Yes he is, and I would think, a shoe in for an academy plus contract

Good luck to Fynn who makes his first team debut today Delighted to hear that - haven't seen a News item or Twitter from the club, but well-deserved after his performances in the Seconds game last week.

This should also put paid to all those rumours about Robbo not giving youth a chance Two teenagers from the academy selected for the match day twelve, that has to be good

We don't promote youth, partly because we don't develop it. Whilst there's always room for improvement, for a county with our catchment area, we do OK. It's some of the recruiting from outside that leave a lot of question marks for me.

Who has been introduced into the CC first-team from within between 2011 and 2013? Hmm, not too sure, but off the top of my head, Machan, Rippon, Gatting, Finch, Hatchett, Hobden and Glover. We definitely need to bring the age of the squad down, and I'm not sure how Robbo is going to do this with so many players whose best days are behind them, still under contract. I'm encouraged by some of the players coming through and I expect some of those who've been around the first team a while now, to kick on.

Ok I give up, what's the answer?

Tough debut for Fynn but a good opportunity for Robbo to pick him. Remember Robbo telling me last year what high hopes he had for Fynn.

Huge congratulations to Fynn who has been awarded a junior professional contract. Good to see another home grown player on the Sussex staff. Absolutely. Good luck to him and hope he fulfils his promise.

This is not like an academy plus contract is it? Who was the last person we signed on this type of contract?

This is not like an academy plus contract is it? Who was the last person we signed on this type of contract? I believe Callum Jackson and Harry Finch were both first signed on junior pro contracts at 18. I think academy plus contracts are primarily for players who are going to university at 18 but who Sussex want to keep watching, as with Matt Hobden. Ah, I understand. Thanks

It's just the next step up on the ladder ain' it? Academy Plus, Junior Pro, Pro, International, Big Time Charlie and finally, Kevin Pietersen. Great news anyway, I hope he makes it to the top, well second or third top.
