Oh dear, watching our bowling attack, it is all so Groundhog Day. Best bowler is Haines. Sussex have failed to find a quality spinner. Agree with Liquid about 4 seambowlers; but when the bowling isn't firing might as well load up the batting. could”nt agree more for the amount of bowlers in the team pretty toothless a bit like Robinson

Still, hopefully we can put a cap on Worcestershire's total as our bowlers are filling gaps. So far Haines gets the crown for making the best impression with his bowling. However, on this form, I can't see skipper Haines raising a trophy or even a plaque at the end of the season.

Ed Pollock would have been an ideal Salt replacement, another we’ve missed out on

Ed Pollock would have been an ideal Salt replacement, another we’ve missed out on We've 2 fine young openers that came through our academy. We didn't need a replacement for Salt. He didn't want to play red ball last year.

It has to be frustrating for everyone our entire front line 5 bowlers are missing.
Robinson Finn Garton Hudson-Prentice Carson
That's a division 1 bowling attack.

I’d settle for a division two bowling attack if they took wickets!
Not much to say unfortunately, it’s just another Groundhog Day.

It has to be frustrating for everyone our entire front line 5 bowlers are missing. Robinson Finn Garton Hudson-Prentice Carson That's a division 1 bowling attack. Steady on Gordy. There's one div 1 bowler in there, and some, but he isn't with us even when he can be with us, which ain't gonna be often. Garton, H-P & Carson have it all to do in div 2 let alone 1 and Finn is close to done. Why ain't he playing anyway? You're the man in the know. No, not a lot to say. At least we've picked 4 actual bowlers, presuming these two desperate loans or Kolpaks are actual bowlers. And you know it's desperate when one of them, who's apparently an all-rounder, comes in to open the bowling immediately. Haines clearly doesn't trust Atkins as well as Lenham and I'm appalled that Carter has lost his place to yet another loan - or someone else's 26 year old failure to give the term its real name. Every game we play, we're simply batting to draw right now. We could really do with winning a toss or two, batting well, and putting some scoreboard pressure on the oppo for a change. When I saw we'd lost the toss I thought, game over. Does anyone know what Phil is on about? He's very cryptic and subtle.

And another fing - can it be anything other than muddled thinking to drop a man who done alright after one game, and then drop another man who done alright after one game for the man you dropped in the first place? I don't think it can.

If you need a spinner Virdi and Moriarity aren’t playing for us at the moment. Either of them would be a massive improvement on your spinners.
I have been at the Oval but I heard that another edge went through a vacant 2nd slip today then Haines puts a 2nd slip in when it’s too late!!!!

Are you trying to turn us against Haines Steve so that we push him to another county? Like, I don't know, Surrey? I think he should captain like he bats.
As for the spinners, keep 'em. We're gonna bring Chawla back on a Kolpak.

No just pointing out that when batsman aren’t fully in that Haines like Brown when he was captain only has one slip. The ball then inevitably goes through 2nd slip negative captaincy.
Don’t need to push Haines to the Oval next season Stewie and his cheque book will do that!!

I appreciate the Worcestershire wicket is batsman-friendly, but it is sad watching a cricket match, which we all have been looking forward to over the winter that will either end as a draw or Sussex losing. Bowling Worcestershire out for less than 500 runs will be an achievement.
We must hope that Haines scores another double century alongside runs coming from the O/S to get us that draw. Yet our skipper is having to bowl far more overs than he should due to our toothless attack.
Ho hum.
PS: Why has Jamie Atkins only bowled 11 overs - is he injured too?
