Sussex come crashing down to earth. Never seemed in the game... at all.
Concerned about Wright and his batting. Looks really out of touch. Hopefully, he'll come good in the latter part of the tournament.
PS: Superb 100 (56 balls) from Seifert. He and Crocombe the Sussex standouts.

I think Wright don’t care anymore. Pissed off that Salt and Jordan left. He will go at the end of the season.

Seifert did has job by getting a hundred but was let down by his team mates not being able to get a 100 between them off 64 balls.

Quite a contrast to the highs of the last three matches. A very timid and feable run chase for the large part at around a run a ball until Rawlins and Seifert (eventually) got going. The match was really lost after the first ten overs of the Hampshire innings.
Three wins, three losses after six. Probably an accurate reflection of where this Team is at present, given the loss of personnel from last season and the blend of experience and youth currently within the side. I suspect many of us would have taken that at this point.
The irony is the three losses are probably against the three weakest opponents to date and the three wins against the three strongest.
Given how wrong I was proved over the inclusion of Harrison Ward in the side, I am very wary of making the same mistake again. However, nothing against the lad, but the inclusion of Hudson-Prentice as a specialist batter at four really puzzles me. If Liquid reckoned Ward nearly lost us the match last night, then I await his thoughts on the 8 runs off 14 deliveries that H-P contributed this evening in the earlier part of our innings. Carter must be seriously questioning what he needs to do to get a run out (other than as twelfth man in the field).
Not sure why Bopara didn't bowl himself his full compliment of overs either.
The management have made some really good calls, Alsop, McCoy, Finn and Ward. But, using the example of Alsop only getting a game through default, I do question if these decisions are a consequence of carefully considered judgement or just pure chance.
A big call over Luke Wright if his poor form continues. Will Kirtley and Co stick with him or make a big call and replace him?
Finally, as has become the norm the traffic on the forum accompanied by the usual harsh and unkind comments was noticeable less following the last three outstanding performances. I recall one comment after the Glamorgan match that stated, 'the worst T20 side we have ever fielded'. Overreaction?!?!
May I remind all before the floodgates no doubt open following tonight's defeat, not only of what we witnessed only 24 hours ago, but that there are inevitably going to be lows mixed with the highs in a group from which it is traditionally difficult to qualify.

I am not sure I would necessarily agree with your view on his state of mind/attitude Steve, but I too suspect you may be correct that this will be his last season in a Sussex shirt. It was interesting in commentary that they commented unlike previous seasons he has played no Cricket over the Winter. This may explain his uncharacteristic run of low scores at present.

Can't believe Seifert was MoM.We lost. Of course he played well, but poorly paced innings at the start didn't help Sussex run chase. FHP was thrown under the bus. Madness. Better team won.

Didn’t make the most of the PP and consequently we were always behind the 8 ball in the chase. Must be lenient with FHP on his first game back and in front of the cameras. I would challenge anyone who says Luke Wright doesn’t care. I think if we’d batted first and posted 177/6 we’d have been fairly happy.
You win some you lose some. It’ll be difficult to get out of the group stages with our ever changing squad but never say never.

A good first/second wicket stand and a decent PP make a world of difference. We got Eskinazi just in time against Middlesex. Against Hampshire, we needed to break through a few overs sooner. Not McCoy’s night either after two impressive performances. It’s a shame we took two games to wake up.

Well a tough nite all round and not surprised we lost ,with the ball crocombe delivered, McCoy an off night and Vince playing a superb innings the dye was set from him plus the chance to turn us over gave them momentum. Wright is a strange one as v Middlesex took a world class catch but with the bat it's like a stranger to him so can see why there is divided opinion.

Crocombe my MoM. I still can't fathom why FHP batted at 4. Any ideas behind the thought process on this?

Yes Sponge, the management made the decision. Therefore it is just another bizarre decision that leaves everyone scratching their heads. And that's my only argument on Ward Devon. The process to his selection and position is wrong. What happens after it is irrelevant, but not much has happened in my view. I would play him though, up the order, ahead of Wright, who is too old and fat, just look at him. He's spent. And he's annoyed otherwise he wouldn't have abruptly chucked in the captaincy at 5 to midnight.
T20's so random, win one here, lose one there, whatever. I know this, we have loads of quality young players, Crocombe the man last night. I can already tell from his 19 runs that Orr is a better striker than most others in our team, no question. The sooner we play all these lads in all forms with the right OS and outside signing, no loans, stop-gaps, one-day contracts, old men... the better.
We look good enough to go through anyway, despite the hinderance of the management.
