I think hh makes an excellent point. Personally I much prefer the excitement of wickets falling over excessive run scoring which can become tedious. I enjoy brilliant catches and bowlers deceiving batsman with a cunning plan. There is becoming a great imbalance between bat and ball. Dare I say that the obsession in 20/20 with 6 hitting and batsman destroying bowlers is being encouraged in the other versions of the game by the production of bland pitches? Conversely perhaps it is just too much hard work to become a bowler these days?

An extraordinary day's play in the 4th Test between Australia and India where Australia made 251 runs off 40 overs, neither Smith nor Warner made 100, and another batsmen, Burns, achiveed the extraordinary strike rate of 169.23 (66 off 39 balls), www.espncricinfo.com/australia-v-india-2014-15/engine/match/754743.htmlIn this series Smith has scored 769 runs in 8 innings, Kohli 646 in 7 (so far), and the best bowling on other side has been Nathan Lyon's 21 wickets at 32.90. Harris and Hazlewood have trundled through three tests each taking 10 wickets at 30 or more, and India's bowlers have mostly gone at 4 an over. Whoopee.
