The Club sorted out their initial ticketing problems. Onward to Friday and it's back to a 7pm start (so says the BBC website). A major opportunity for revenge.

Dear oh dear, first Mills and now 'Dorf' - you just can't get the staff these days. Pressure now on Topley to perform. Talk about a Club with their "Backs to the wall!"

First, I must congratulate the Club for their ever improving marketing department. Under the commercial helm of Mark Judges not only has Sussex CCC avidly taken on the growing promotional possibilities via social media and online, but use every chance to bring supporters closer to the Club.
Naturally, there are blips along the way as we recently saw in the selling of the QF T20 tickets, but I must point out another error which may bring unnecessary upset to families and close friends.
My father was a Life Member of Sussex CCC and had been since 1956. We enjoyed many happy occasions sharing the joys of Hove County Ground cricket, but sadly due to increasing health problems, the last time we attended together was the 2013 touring match against Australia.
My father died last July after a very lengthy illness and today my family celebrate his second birthday since passing.
Therefore, mixed emotions were felt this morning when I received from the Club an email with an image of Ben Brown holding a placard stating, "Happy Birthday Thomas D Tim from everyone at Sussex Cricket - have a great day."
First, his name was Tim Stonor and secondly he died over 13 months ago.
Perhaps, the Club should continually check death records to make sure this mishap doesn't happen to other families, although I do appreciate the sentiment.

My apologies for stating the bleedin' obvious, but why are we signing a fast bowler aged 36 years-old? Is he going to be our secret bowling coach weapon in the future? Meanwhile, "We are also seeking a younger, more long-term signing to complement our current bowling stocks.” Well, that's going to please liquidskin! What on earth is happening to our Academy-led future? A Theresa May U-turn, perhaps?

With a small gap to the final Ashes, Monty moves deftly into politics as he offers his Andrew Neil take on the present state of the country.

Oh dear!
Don't give up the day job, Monty.
Oh, I forgot. You haven't got a day job.

Horrendously embarrassing performance by Monty. It's so bad, it's almost funny - Pythonesque, methinks.

Finally, at last, we can officially call him 'Sir Geoff'. Delighted for Boycs and this is one of the few honourable decisions Theresa May made during her short reign as PM. The PC extremists alongside the 'Women's Aid Charity' are not happy, but Boycs 'doesn't give a toss' about the criticism. Botham gained his knighthood for charity-work, Boycott's is rightly for cricket. Andrew Strauss has also gained one, so the establishment have something, at least, to purr about. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-49639222

He's a wife beater. An a nob.
It's amazing how white Panesar's head is since he lost his hair. Not been a great summer granted but I would have thought it was naturally darker. Good political commentary though despite the head thing.
You're right S&F, I'm totally livid about this old has-been being signed. Soon I'm gonna post a comment on Gillespie highlighting the man's ludicrous signing this season.
With respect, would your father not find that somewhat funny, the name thing? The timing thing? Or maybe the Tom Tim bit? Tom T Tim? Any of that. Shame they didn't send another season ticket.

This just becomes more farcical. My deceased father of 13 months has just received another email from the Club, this time inviting him to attend a luncheon where former footballer and manager, Kevin Keegan, is the speaker. A sweet irony because my Dad was a lifelong Liverpool supporter. I will have to find a reputable medium to ask him if he wishes to attend.

Delighted to see Harry Finch is scoring some runs for the 2nd XI.
