A tiny handful of county CEO's are former professional cricketers, but most are not.
In the same way a great player might not be a great coach, there is no rule that says someone who hasn't played at a high level can't be a good CEO.
The main thing is this guy doesn't seem to stay put very long: always moving on to the next project.
So, either he's very good, and moves on to something a bit better each time, or there are 'difficulties' that see him depart after a year or two of each appointment.
Either way, his past employment history Suggests he will give the club two years of his valuable time, before moving on to something a bit bigger.
The main thing is- will he leave the club in a better place than he found it?
He seems to see his roll as a 'fixer'- sorts something out: then gets bored and looks for something a bit bigger that needs fixing.

If he comes and sorts us out for two years and then leaves then that’s great!

I am somewhat bemused about recent talk of the offices in the new Apartment block. My understanding being, from various posts on this Forum, that the Club is unable to rent them out. Out of curiosity, "I did a Google" and found the below page. www.gravesjenkins.com/property/tate-offices-sussex-county-cricket-club-hove-bn3-3anAt a rental cost of £26.50 a sq.ft, the gravesjenkins.com website states, "A unique opportunity to lease a floor or the entirety of a state-of-the-art office building within the prestigious Sussex County Cricket Ground. This established location is poised for further regeneration, promising an even more enriched environment for any business operations." AccommodationThe offices have the following internal floor measurements:-
Ground Floor: 3,017 sq ft (280.3 m2) * Now Under Offer *
First Floor: 3,433 sq ft (319 m2)
Second Floor: 3,452 sq ft (320.7 m2) * Now Under Offer *
Total Accommodation (Net Internal Area): 9,902 sq ft (920 m2)So, two of these floors are under offer (does that mean the sale will go through?) With the first floor still available. I accept it has taken Sussex CCC almost a year to reach this point, but surely, this is good news for the Club? Presumably if the rental sales do go ahead, this will help the Club's revenue stream for 2024?

To clarify what happened, all were rented but the deal fell through and that had a damaging effect to our 24 budget. Looks like next year is brighter though.

Anyone who affiliates themselves with George Galloway has to viewed somewhat suspiciously. In Monty’s case I’m afraid the lift doesn’t go to the top floor.

I’m not sure who comes across as the more desperate from this, Panesar or Galloway. The fall from grace of Monty Panesar is one of the saddest stories in cricket.

Poor ol' Monty. As you say he is "one marble short of a full bag", although in his case, let's make that two. His agent at HTalent has tried everything to keep Monty in the public eye from one celebrity TV embarrassment to himself even writing a cricket blog, which to be fair, did generate some interest. So, going into politics must be a final desperate move. Monty does have the notoriety, the ethnic look and naivety, but sadly, he will be eaten alive by the political sharks if he ever makes any progress. htalentmanagement.com/monty-panesar/

If he's really desperate, there's always, 'I'm a nonentity, get me out of here'.
He'd be good on that.
I've a feeling he'd be the wimp who failed at all the trials, and consequently the viewers would vote for him to do more and more trials.
