Many congrats to England. Another fantastic T20. Who would have thought it when South Africa scored 229 a week ago. This England side has great potential. Lots of fun ahead. We now face New Zealand in the semis on Wednesday at Delhi.
Meanwhile, let us not forget Jordan's 4 wickets for 28 runs.

I do not have access to tv pictures so am following this tournament via the BBC sports extra coverage. In the past and as recently as last years 50 over World Cup the BBC have covered every match. This time they have only sent two teams of commentators and are covering England and random other matches only. Jonathan Agnew and Vic Marks are "doing" England and some other games from their group. Charles Dagnell and Ebony Rainford -Brent are the other team covering the second Group and England Women. This means each commentary team is describing the entire match with no guests helping out. In the case of Agnew/Marks I enjoy their affable banter and knowledge. However I cannot listen to an entire broadcast by the other team. They seem to be far more manic in their delivery and their anecdotes are usually outside of my knowledge. I guess they are the "youth" team. I wonder if this reduced BBC coverage is a sign of things to come and the extensive county coverage may be the next to be reduced? For a T20 two commentators is ample, nice to see the BBC being a bit less profligate with our money!

Just popped on here to see what others make of this England team. Not perfect by any means but we have a handful of players now who can turn a game, my quiet confidence in them has not been misplaced.

Welcome back, Mrs Doyle. Have the Fathers been keeping you busy, now? Been making some nice sheep tea! Now you wouldn't be the one who voted for England as winners in our poll, would you now?

Been making some nice sheep tea! Now you wouldn't be the one who voted for England as winners in our poll, would you now? I can't remember lol, it's my age! I think I went for semi finalists but I think they have a good chance, good players and now a good management.

What a difference a game makes: latest data for 2016 Sussex players in the World T20. Sadly the final ones for Mr Fizz, and wouldn't it have been interesting if he'd played earlier in the tournament and perhaps inspired an early win? Let us hope that he can stay fit now and give Sussex some of his magic.

The majority (7 out of 13 ) of voters in our recent poll having been proved unduly pessimistic, attention now shifts to the optimists. 4 predicted a semi-final place, and 1 each runner-up and winner.
Assuming that the semi-final will be against New Zealand (though it isn't yet showing up on the cricinfo section for World T20) it looks as if the majority of those left now have it right. New Zealand have been showing that they have the not only the right attitude for this kind of contest but have a squad with players who can bowl very precisely to the conditions, and batsmen who can attack. If England are up against them I think the only area of England advantage might be the batting if all the big guns fire consistently, and probably if they win the toss and opt to chase a target.

England play New Zealand on Wednesday afternoon(our time). Apparently no side has ever won the tournament by being unbeaten throughout so both New Zealand and West Indies are due a defeat. As to the predictions I think most people predicted reasonably and England can count themselves very lucky to be still in the running. However "lucky" sides win things so I expect an England win now. That win will have been attained by players produced from the current set up. Therefore if it happens I expect all talk of franchises to be shelved and our missing two Championship matches restored!
Dream on you might say.

I'm sure we will do. I suppose they're only holding off from filling in England's name on the highly unlikely possibility that Afghanistan might beat West Indies and by such a margin that the WI net run rate is less than England's, with both teams on 6 points! Naturally I'd be delighted for the Afghans to get a win but I assume it would have to be by about 100 runs to make such a result possible.
