Chawla. That's the position we need, that's the match winner we need, that's the man we need. I asked a moderator to set up a poll on Chawla but I've been ignored - I think for the first time ever. I guess the mods don't care about the opinions of the posters, rather that they just don't say f**k or Bugga. It's a shame though because the people want to speak - just look at the posts on this thread.
I'm telling you all, all one of you, that Chawla would have won us that last game on his Jones and he'll win a few more too. Get him Sussex.

If you've set your sights on Chawla, you might have to organise a whip round, fraudster. Times are hard.

There's the money saved on Taylor!s salary for a start, plus we presumably budgeted for Matty Hobden and Jimmy Anyon. We've even got money back, in the form of compensation for the time Jordan was away in India. There should be plenty enough in the kitty for a decent overseas, and probably some left over to give Jofra Archer a contract.

I might add, that Chawla wouldn't be my choice, not least because I think three front line spinners would be a bit of a luxury for a small squad.

I hear Fraudster was willing to bankroll it himself! I could chuck in a couple of emu to sweeten the deal but I agree with JB, if you can't afford to replace the leaving staff with a similar standard, someone's taking the p**s. I don't agree with JB on his reason for not employing Chawla though - not getting Chawla because we can't afford the luxury of three spinners is illogical JB. The existing staff have no baring on our reasons for employing a match winner. If we want to win matches, he is the man. Faulkner isn't a match winner in the longer form. Not many are. Chawla is, he would have won us the last game and he will win us a few more - and a few wins will be enough this season. We need Chawla, we know what he can do because he's already done it for us. Having said that, someone brought up his eligibility so I don't know if he can play, thanks to a ridiculous rule or two. I know his last game for India was December 2012. I suspect Sussex will baffle us all by signing an opener or something.

Probably best to write this season off, blood some youngsters and make a better plan for next season. He says in mid-July....

Absolute waste of time and money now, with Sussex in seventh position in the T20 and bottom in the 50 over table. It seemed impossible that Sussex could get more inept at white ball cricket than they were during Robinson's last couple of clueless years. But his legacy threatens to be even worse than the under-achievement of his final, past-his-sell-by phase. Taylor, Wiese, Kula Shaker and Fizz are all world-class white-ball players. But even they couldn't paper over the gaping holes and deficiencies Robinson left in the squad. And to think one of his final acts was to sack the excellent Zaidi... Good thing it's only a daft game and caring who wins or loses is a sad and juvenile distraction from real life. Otherwise I'd get really upset.

No it will be more of the same, and seeing out the season will be like death by a thousand cuts. Prepare for next season by getting rid of those who are running the show

It's too late for us to win anything this season, but let's just sign an OS all rounder anyway, and see what we would have won. Next season, who knows, hopefully there will be new people in charge. It may be, if and when Joyce goes, which now seems likely, we may decide to bring in an overseas opener. As much as I think the side needs an all rounder, we may not get a look in on any of the domestic openers rumoured to be leaving ( Chopra, Hales, Stoneman ) to replace Joyce. If we can find an aggressive OS opening bat, able to play in all formats, I'd go with that, and try and find a domestic all rounder. Either a youngster like, Thakor or Raine, or maybe someone more experienced like Ricki Clarke.

No, other than the fact that we can't go on like this
