But no news of the 3 players out of contract, Salt, Beer and Magoffin?

Good news re Rawlins, Whittingham and Sakande.Hopefully all three out of contract players will get new deals, though Salt's post match interview yesterday suggested he wasn't sure

If Jon Lewis gets the vacant England bowling coach job, I can see Magoffin being kept on as a player/coach.

Salt would be sure if he'd played as much as he should have this year - and I mean the one-day stuff mainly. Davis better work hard to keep him. Surely it's easier than flying to SA to convince someone else they have a future here.
Mags as a player next year, no, backwards thinking. Mags as a bowling coach and registered player if needed, yes please.

Totally agree with Liquidskin.
As far as I am concerned Salt is our most promising youngster with the bat and it is both a travesty and a mystery as to why he did not feature more this season particularly in white ball competition.
I heard the Radio Wales post match interview with Jacques Rudolph the Glamorgan skipper and South African International after Salt featured in the rain effected 20/20 match at Cardiff in June which was eventually called off. Rudolph commented a number of times on Salt's talent after he had come in at 3 and bludgeoned the Glamorgan bowlers to all parts of the ground (he had a run rate of 800 after the first 2 balls).
I have no doubts whatsoever that other Counties are now monitoring the situation closely as his current contract with Sussex CCC nears expiration.
I hope that Mark Davis and Rob Andrew do whatever it takes to keep him here!

The same reason that most of the youngsters didn't feature, because we brought in 2 Kolpaks and Evans to block the places and after spending top dollar on them felt obliged to play them. I hope Salt is retained and gets more game time next season, he's shown in the Durham game that he's got the temperament for red ball cricket too.

Not what I was expecting, but no real surprise with his injury record. With Jofra, almost certainly on a central contract and Stu going, this has now released much needed cash for new players, so no excuses from Dizzy or Rob A.

Don’t think Stu was given a fair go to be honest. This is a good move by him, he’ll get game time at Glos as they’ve recently lost 2 seamers. He’s got good pace and will only improve with regular 1st team games. I wish him well.

No way can Sussex compete on all fronts with such a threadbare squad, what the hell is going on

Best of luck for the future Stuart. I think he will be a good signing for Gloucestershire especially with Craig Miles and Liam Norwell having gone to Warwickshire.

I’m sure, but bizarre we decided to let him leave given the current state of our squad At Gloucestershire he will be in the first team, whereas at Sussex he won't. It's simple really! Use them or risk losing them! Hopefully Will Sheffield will replace him.
