Ridiculous but highly amusing. Leeds look like they're in crisis already as well.

Football, mmm, isn't it, mmm, jumpers for goalposts. I like football, particularly playing, but what it ultimately means is the end of summer, it's nearly x-mas, I'm a year older and it's the end of the cricket season. Now I'm hard as nails, as everyone knows, but taking four layers of that particular s**t sandwich can even make me blue. I guess I'll be chirpy enough if Man Utd keep getting five put past them by teams like Leicster and... that other s**t side???

If it was a genuine apology, he'd have taken it and booted it over the bar.

At long long last, FIFA is hopefully about to get its comeuppance: www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-32895048Is it a reflection on the morality of the 'old' football nations that it's the USA that has apparently taken the initiative with these ongoing scandals.

The key sentence is "Fifa plans to go ahead with elections for its next president on Friday". No matter that 9 of it's officials have been arrested, it's headquarters has been raided and it's files ransacked, they still intend to go ahead with propping up Blatter for another 5 years. Nothing else matters. Can you imagine the complacency and the greed behind that?

Imho, there are many scandals still to erupt, in all walks of life, but it is particularly sweet to finally see FIFA brought to book. Let us hope the punishments are harsh and swift.

Well worth watching again the Panorama programme about the FIFA corruption (see below). Some said the allegations were 'sour grapes' from England for not winning the 2018 World Cup bid after spending £15m. But now, and one feels proud to be English, these sour grapes turn out to be a delicious full-bodied Merlot, partly thanks to Panorama and fantastic investigative journalism from 'The Sunday Times'. The type of journalism that attracted me to the field when a teenager. What amazes many is how long it has taken to bring this corruption to book when it was an open secret for so long. topdocumentaryfilms.com/fifa-dirty-secrets/www.wired.com/2015/05/fifa-scandal-explained/

Extraordinary article by Paul Hayward in the Telegraph, suggesting that someone with a manufacturing background doesn't have the class to run the FA. Is he being ironic?
