Both Finch and Haines have flourished under Gillespie. Indeed they have, also Burgess, Briggs, Wiese and Robinson, everyone else has either stood still, or gone backwards

The worry is Wells who seems to have stalled, can’t even get a score for the 2’s.
In the last 2’s game, a 3 day friendly v Middlesex, Wells Haines and Brown all failed with the bat in both innings. Top scorers were Beer and Garton.

It was awful to watch the senior players in the 2nd’s on Tuesday. Was impressed with Harrison Ward and Tom Clarke and the other academy players.
The attack of Garton, Whittingham, Sakander and Beer looked club standard at best.
I think Gillespie has already made up his mind who is staying and this shows by the awarding of contracts a lot earlier than usual.. Think the 4 bowlers I have mentioned should be worried about their future careers in cricket.

Whittingham and Sakande are out of contract at the end of 2019, Garton at the end of 2020.

Some of the players threads have ended up discussing players in general or a group of players. I've made this through for such discussions.
