Gutted!!!! So nearly did it. Top order failed again and at 103/5 we should have had no chance really. Interestingly the last 5 went for 10, in between an unbelievable partnership. Must’ve been an exceptional knock from Wiese, and great support from Brown, must be a record one-day stand for the 6th wicket? Well done to those two 👏
Still, I’m sure someone will bemoan the fact we let Crane go....🙄

Luke's record didn't last long! Over to Luke to regain it, I think

Annoying. Done amazingly well to get into that position, and hats off for that, but it was totally in the bag and we blew it. Shame. We should never have let Crane go.

From 103-5 it feels ridiculous to say we should have won the game. 21 off 18 with 5 wickets remaining... Still an unbelievable effort and great knocks from Wiese and Brown. Luke's record didn't last long! I tend to agree but coming in late when runs are needed is not easy. If only, David Wiese had lasted one more over. If only, some of the top order had scored a handful more. If only.

Everyone has got some runs 6 games into this comp, so they're firing somewhat. Two huge games at home for us to come, against inconsistent strugglers. It's in our hands and these games should tell us quite a bit about where we're at with Gillespie. We are better than both these teams and we are at home. Make it count Sussex.
How many go through? I like the group stage format as it is, eight games is enough to get going and sort the men from the boys. Being in a block is key.

Crane the match winner for Hampshire. Remind me which county let him go? Hats off to Wiese for his knock. Shot selection (Brown and Briggs) was Sussex's undoing.
As for Garton after two steps forward it was definitely one step back today.
Do we have the worst performing top five in county cricket? They certainly need to step it up as it is ridiculous we keep finding ourselves 100-5 or worse every match. We can't keep relying on Wiese, Brown, Beer and Briggs to bail us out everytime.

If Garton keeps taking three out of three steps forward he'll go down the same path as Archer, and we'll never see him again. I'd take two steps forward and one back, it might look silly but it's still moving forward.
