Joe - if we don't take wickets the scoring rate will accelerate. They will get 370 unless we take wickets soon. Yes thanks for pointing that out. I merely posted those comments to show you how ridiculous your post was about Garton. By the way, Garton has probably saved at least 20 runs in the field. Garton's fielding has never been in the question as it is generally superb. I still feel he has a lot to learn as a bowler. I do feel he would benefit from reducing his speed and concentrating on accuracy. He has the talent. It is up to the bowling coach to help him harness that talent effectively.
370 isn't out of reach if we don't get Taylor and Higgins out! FFS Wiese and Hamza sort it out!
Who is the bowling coach? Do they not discuss how to bowl at the death?

Has Jack Taylor's innings taken it beyond Sussex's reach?

Exactly Joe. Newsflash for Sharkey, batsmen score runs off good balls and established bowlers too. We should give Garton a chance at the end, he'll get wickets when people are trying to smack it out the park. We always hook him if he goes for a few then someone like Hamza comes on and concedes 60 odd off 6 odd anyway.
Touch above par I reckon.

First time a score of 300 or above has been made at the Saffrons in white ball games.
Time for van Zyl to step up.

Happy with the first 40 overs. Disgusted with the last 10 overs. To go for 135 off the last 10 overs is a joke. Whoever the bowling coach is now should be sacked. Death bowling is someone which they should be practising every day.

The Garton pinch hitting experiment needs to be terminated. Is Garton doing enough to justify his place in the team? He has only bowled six overs in the last two games. That said, he is not the reason why Gloucestershire got 335 as he didn't bowl in the last ten overs. Their seamers have out bowled ours. Having six bowlers leaves the batting exposed. If he is going to play he needs to bowl. I am not sure the captain has complete faith in him. Another batsman could have been played which given the performance of our top five is a must. We cannot rely on Wiese, Brown and Beer to bail us out every match. 3/3 losses at Eastbourne. I cannot help feeling we gave away home advantage by opting to play at Eastbourne instead of Hove.

Poor performance all round. We let them run away in the last 10 overs and didn’t have the fire power to chase such a big total.
Has Ben Brown won a toss yet?
We need to beat Glamorgan by a big margin on Tuesday ( which is being shown on Sky ) to have any hope of qualification.
