Think he will sign for Yorkshire or another first division county but Sussex should be making an approach to sign him. Surrey may go for him as a replacement for the now departed to England Rory Burns.

Hameed averages 43 in test cricket so cannot be that bad a player.

Point taken, but he is a disaster in county cricket. We need quality and experience, and if we can’t compete in the domestic market, then use the overseas route, or bring in a Kolpak

The overseas route is an option.
I'm sure there will be 17 counties prepared to take a young former England opener on to there books as they say, form is temporary, class is permanent.

But I think the point that Jonboy makes through thinking we should be signing players is that, well...we need to invest from outside. Those who insist we should only have players from the academy etc, well you’ve had that these last few years, and how has that worked...

Unless the class was temporary, and the form is permanent. An unusual case. Probably needs a sports psychologist as much as good coaching.

Are the three overseas players we've generally been playing in the CC over the last three years Academy players? We haven't had that and nobody has said we should. The hunter has become the hunted. Only temporarily though, I prefer to be the hunted. The role of hunter feels pompous and pathetic to me. Wrong wrong wrong, you're wrong and I'm gonna pull you on it. Wrong wrong wrong! She exclaimed. Hameed is worth a punt if he's cheap on salary but he's been poor for two years at least - That ain't form. Finch has been poor for less than one and he's getting hung form the rafters. I doubt many will be chasing Hameed.

Interesting that some here think the likes of Yorkshire will fancy him, others think he will struggle to a county. He could be one of those where it just takes a change of scenery, to get him back on track.

What are you on about?🤷♂️ No, we have only been playing one overseas player, since 2008 in fact as that’s all you’re allowed to play in championship cricket. I am referring - as you well know - to the fact that we have strangely resisted recruitment from outside to strengthen the batting, whilst numerous batsmen have left or retired. Instead, we have picked a top-order full of homegrown players, which is a way that you and others have been wanting us to go and been criticising the club for not doing - remember “Homeyhaters CCC”, or whatever it was?

Say that then, and stop saying things like 'some want all' or 'full of homegrown'. Van Zyl, Evans, Chopra, Wiese. Stop exaggerating.
And you well know that the rules mean nothing because of EU law. Wiese and Van Zyl are from SA. SA is overseas. They have both played for SA, their home country. Hamza is from Pakistan, that is also overseas. In fact, if you look on a globe, you'll note that most places are overseas, because we are an island. A side could pick eleven players from overseas on the Kolpak ruling and according to you, they would have no overseas players. Get a grip. Stop reiterating a meaningless rule that you know is totally flawed.
Homeyhaters CCC is a hook for comical effect. But it is in reference to us not trusting players who we produce from young. It doesn't mean we need to play eleven homies, it means we need to give lads like H-P and Jackson a proper chance.
Hunter becoming the hunted? That's a joke about me doing a you and policing comments. You remind me of Backward Point from the old board, but a bit friendlier.

Is it any different to England? Where would England be with the Barbadian Jofra Archer and New Zealander Ben Stokes?

Well, not much. England have different rules though. You can't just rock up from SA and play for England through some rule bending. Their rules, if I agree or otherwise, allow the likes of Archer and KP to qualify. Stokes came here as a minor, like Prior and Strauss, so no problem.
Is he really? Well I'll be. I don't mean to sound like a minor celebrity trying to get into China Whites but do you know who I am Backward Ashington? Should you be liking RFawden's posts? You're not mentioning this Liquidskin chap who really knows his stuff to the Inner Circle are you? "Sometimes he sounds like that nutter RFawden but most of the time he really has a point."
