May I point out to this MB that unless the title has either the words "unofficial" or "Independent", the Club may not be
at all happy with the title. The whole point of setting up this new MB by the club was to let people know that it was "not"
aligned to them.
Unless this new MB has either the words "unofficial" or "Independent" in the title the club might well ask us to change
it again anyway.

I have voted for "Sussex Cricket Messageboard", because I think that's what it is, and that's what I think people will Google when looking for it.
- No-one's saying or pretending it's an Official board
- CCC does not appear in the title
(so it's not connected to the club)
- it's not run by Sussex CCC
- AFAIK, the club has no jurisdiction over the board.
- are any other messageboards labelled "unofficial"?

Is it too late to add my suggestion to the mix? I would like to vote against all of the five other suggestions on the grounds of mundanity, dullness and lack of imagination.
Above all we must drop the 'unofficial' tag. We are what we are : Sussex cricket supporters and there is nothing unofficial or unequivocal about that. We do not require approval, endorsement or royal warrant from anyone to fly the Martlets flag or use the name of Sussex on our digital crest of arms.

Hang on, is this a new name for the message board or the poll? I'm just playing ya'll. I agree with BM, gotta lose that unofficial rubbish. I mean I'm not official enough to take too much offense but I think most of you are. Haven't got a problem with the word 'independent' so I'm gonna vote yes.

At the moment, only 21 of our 159 members have voted in this poll. It would be extremely helpful if all members could just take half a minute to vote for their preference.
It is important that cricket fans looking for our board can find it easily on a Google search, so we need to give ourselves the most accessible name we can. Some members have already remarked on how difficult it was to find us, so please have your say! Many thanks in advance.

You should make it clear that you simply hover over the name you prefer in the list at the head of this thread and then click. It isn't readily apparent how you actually vote, which may have deterred some (including me - I only worked it out this afternoon!)

Well could be, it certainly doesn't on my iPad or my phone There is a suggestion on Proboards help that there are problems with viewing polls on some devices. I can confirm that on my android phone I can't see the poll. We can ask our Admin to look into this but can you - and other members viewing this thread - log in on a conventional pc or Mac to vote while we investigate? |
