Fair play to Vince, he looks like a man with a point to prove but aside from a few deliveries from Wiese's in the opening over the bowling has been pretty underwhelming.

Bizarre captaincy. Why was beer not brought on until 13th over and not bowl four overs? Why did lenham not bowl four overs? Rawlins and bopara bowling experiments weren't needed either.

According to you CP in the Glamorgan match thread (7th July, 19.02pm) and I quote verbatim "The emergence of Carson and Lenham has put pay to Beer's Sussex career". Perhaps Luke read your post?

I doubt they read what the lunatics say. If they did we'd win more. Well, looking at the ins and outs, which was disgusting, we need to beat top of the league Kent. Not great given where all our eggs are. The Middle are set for bottom, and I noticed they're in our pants Championship league too - what's the crack at the home of cricket? Can't be happy with that. Did Hants play twice today or is my cyber news wonky?

Playing without Garton, Jordan and Mills makes things tough, particularly when Vince is on form. We head to Canterbury with the same fragility hoping that Luke Wright and Phil Salt can both score over 50. The team at The Ageas looked our weakest for a few years in this format.

Rashid is not the consistent bowling threat he used to be. His batting down the order is unpredictable. Do we really need him? And at what cost? Playing three leg spinners was a strange selection. Salt needs a reality check. Fantastic player, but he comes at the bowlers too hard. Fine when it comes off, but you can't bully all the oppo attacks. Sussex are in dire need of a "Joe Root" type of batsman who can support the top 5 bully boy batters. Bopara can do it, but he probably needs to find another club closer to home. Hants deserved the win(just). Well batted Vince. Essex did us no favours earlier on in the day. Sunday evening will be tense.

So where the hell's Garton then? Not in the England T20 squad is he? As presumably Jordan is. Should be. England missing a trick by not looking at Salt for Malan and Garton for Willey. They know all they need to know about Willey and Malan.

Carson did not play. I expected Beer, Khan and Lenham to bowl 12 overs.

Unless he is going to be available for the whole competition Khan is an expensive luxury we can ill afford. Being here for just two group games out of fourteen is an absolute joke. With Archer, Beer, Garton, Jordan, Lenham and Mills do we really need Khan? Two overseas batsmen who can bat 3 and 4 would serve us better.

Very disappointing evening. surely, you can defend 183?
Given the inconsistencies of T20, those 5 points gained from washed out games have been a boon.
Kent do or die.
