Ask Andyb, he was there. Sat next to the pathway guy, Groundskeeper Grubby.

I watched the Zoom forum. What struck me was the contrasting body language of Andrew and Salisbury. Salisbury engaged in a repeatedly passionate defence of his youngsters, without any explanation of why we were relying on such an immature team. Andrew kept his head down most of the time and looked as if he was relieved that someone else was taking the flak. Andrew has presumably imposed strong fiscal restraints on Salisbury, and the latter, out of loyalty, was not allowed to plead shortage of funds. Warren dealt with the members' questions like a politician. The whole exercise was heavily stage managed, and suffered as a result of the Zoom format.

Yes, everyone involved got off very lightly, compared to how it would have been if members were there in person. Bob Warren ducked a number of awkward questions, which he wouldn't have been able to do in a normal gathering. And I completely agree with flashblade that Salisbury kept repeating himself in defending how "tight" the young group were, how a lot of them had played through the age groups together, how desperate they were to win. As if being determined to win could somehow make it happen, notwithstanding their collective lack of experience.

Understandable inviting just members but do think they would learn a lot more if they contacted some of those that have not renewed and asked reasons why. This would be ideal for bringing up why susex are not improving who on this forum are members?

And across social media in general. As you say, find out how many have not renewed.

I am now a Member of the Arundel Castle CC. Much more fun and a lot less heartache. The countryside views alone are worth the cost.

I’ve never seen the attraction of Arundel. Goddamn awful to get to, terrible facilities and no shade.

I can't disagree more.
A very easy 15 minute drive away for me; A number of shadey areas to choose from; great facilities if you're
a Member; very relaxing and soothing environment to bask in.
Oh, and there's the cricket to watch too.

I can understand Joe's point of view when there are 3 or 4k at a County game, although it would not stop me going, but I also 100% can see what WC is saying for the normal much lower attended castle games.
