There was a discussion on Twitter yesterday about the schedule being impossible to publish until the decision is made about Yorkshire penalties etc...
County fixtures are expected in the new year. NOT before Christmas.
Why not wait until 2023 (sarcasm)? Cricket really knows how to shoot itself in the foot! If they are been organised they could have announced the fixtures a month ago.

I'm not a Twitter - has the delay been officially confirmed? I understand your frustration, but I guess the Yorkshire situation now has to be factored in. Good to hear that there is some punishment implied here.

Delayed until mid-January now. Any more delays and it will be 2023!

But that would penalise the counties (maybe cause cash flow problems for some, possibly even leading to some staff being laid off), whilst the delays are caused by the ECB. Perhaps delaying the fixtures is yet another strategy for the ECB to 'cull' a few counties? A membership renewal boycott could play into the ECB's anti-county agenda...

Nice ground. No trees on it or anything, which is a bonus. Perfect place to make hay for a young batsman struggling on a s**t tip.

Strangely enough it says on General Cricket Chat that they're gonna be created by CP and announced by me. Thanks for telling me, ECB. Now I'm really nervous. How will I sound? Will I come across ok? Will I offend anyone with the inevitable colourful language - especially while reading where and when CP's put the Hundred.

After a quick perusal, for me, the best bit of news is that the T20 competition is played in one block from May 26th to July 3rd, with the QFs following just a few days later and Finals Day on July 16th. Only two Championship matches (Glamorgan and Derbyshire) are in-between, all the rest of cricket in that time period is T20.
Finally, some common sense now the Blast is being played in one block akin to The 100. The same applies to the 50 over where only the Championship remains the odd one out.
Imho, the Championship could be played in two distinct blocks (at the beginning of the season/April and May and towards the end of the season/August and September), but that would mean decreasing the number of games to 12 or even 10 (6/5 in each block). I appreciate this would be unpopular with Members.
Also, it's great to see a New Zealand touring game at Hove (May 20th-23rd).
