After some decent performances in the first friendly of the season against Surrey, the next visitors to Hove are Durham UCCE. The game takes place over three days again. Let's hope some of our players get some good batting practice. Over to you.

Ah yes, what will happen with Ollie? We might end up seeing more of him than we expected. Although he’s not been deemed fit enough for the test matches, will he able to play for us in the opening rounds? Obviously it’s up to England, but I wonder if these fitness issues might impact his future England prospects and central contract?

129 for 0 at lunch with Orr and Haines both on 60 not out. It's good to see our openers starting the season well, although they will face stiffer tests in the coming weeks.

Why don't we know about these injuries? Carson until June?
Lenham, stress fracture of the back? That's for pushing at a young age and that'll mean
an action change. Not good for a young man and a LB bowler.
Where are the spinners? Who are the spinners?
So far, all recent signings have been underwhelming.

So far in one and a bit friendlies? Anyway, where's Garton? I presume Orr and Haines finished on 250*? Better have done. Robbo said leg spinners take a long time to mature. Didn't know he meant 20 years but someone tell Beer to put down his pipe and take off his slippers. He has served his apprenticeship. |

Middlesex are playing at Merchant Taylor school
and Kent at Beckenham.
When is Pujara coming over?
When is Amla going to play for us?
The PR at Sussex and Surrey are f**king awful.
The fans get told nothing treated like ****.

The Kent Chief Exec was quoted in Kentonline in January as saying: “Unfortunately this year it hasn’t been possible to return to the picturesque Nevill Ground in Tunbridge Wells. Despite the improving picture with Covid, we still are required to put in place operational plans to cover all eventualities. “With this in mind, it’s not possible to move a complex first-class cricket operation to support out-ground cricket at a third venue. We have a close working relationship with Tunbridge Wells Cricket Club, and hope to return to The Nevill in 2023.” Make of that what you will! |

Not sure you'll get a whole load of sympathy here Steve. Amla's probably earning the same a year as the Sussex Squad. Comparing the 2 clubs is impossible yes Sussex do get a lot of things wrong but it's always tried to be a community club rather than a money club |
