I've gone cross-eyed watching it Devon. It may be an improvement but it's giving me headaches. Gotta love their halftime show though instead of the usual silence. Lovely Spitfire pics, a stupid lime tree on the pitch, a Cathedral, numerous boat-people absconding through the countryside, a touching show. I loved it, puts our stream to shame but who's doesn't.

Cruise control. I too wonder about our plans - I think it's all on the hoof. Crocombe 1-2 from 1 over, off you go, and on to someone else to bowl an over or 4. Who knows? I don't think JK or Bo-pop do. You do have to change stuff up and not be rigid but every good team works from a cor. None of us know what Sussex are up to. I know this, if a bowler starts with 1-2, leave the f****r on.

I know this, if a bowler starts with 1-2, leave the f****r on. Exactly what I said on the thread of yesterday's match Liquid, only you have phrased it much better. You start with a framework and tweak, vary, adjust whatever according to the game situation. What with the curious team selections, ad-hoc changes to the batting order and bowling changes from one game to the next, it gives no indication or confidence that Kirtley and Bopara have a starting point. Consequently, the inevitable conclusion is decisions are predominantly knee jerk and random.

Six defeats in the last seven and the one we actually won was an absolute gift, complete with shiny wrapping paper and a tidily tied neat bow!!
Any slim mathematical hope we had of qualifying is now gone.
Sadly, we weren't good enough. Other than a brief three win run early doors, we never gave the impression we had a plan or even knew our best team or batting order.
Just to add salt to the wound even our fielding deserted us tonight. Other than a slip catch against Glamorgan, we have held every outfield catch this tournament before dropping two tonight.
Batters, Alsop aside and latterly Rawlins and Garton nowhere near consistent enough. Needed more from our conveyor belt of overseas, admittedly Rizwan chipped in with some useful innings. Bowling erratic, particularly at the death where we rarely had a grip.
Particular shout out to Mills, nowhere near good enough if he has genuine aspirations of reviving his international T20 career and Finn, who is starting to look like another signing in the mould of Claydon and Meaker.
Let us hope we can put together a better showing in the Royal London Cup.

For the remaining two games. Ward,Orr,Alsop,Crocombe,Rawlins,Garton and Rizwan as bat stay. Lenham, Hudson Prentice, Haines, Clarke, Carter, Ibrahim, Hunt, Atkins,Coles come in. 16 decent players for the future.

Root and branch clear out needed.
I think I’d rather lose playing all the youngsters than have the hope of a win and ultimate disappointment with all the ‘big names’

Think Tear and Hinley who are contracted will be available soon after college/uni finished for Summer, guess they will need some integration into the squad first.

What a poor T20 tournament.
Only 8 points or 4 wins out of 12 games and with just two left. Is this the worst Sussex performance since the competition began in 2003? What are the stats?
Both Wright and Bopara may not be involved next season, so where does that place the side? Who will fill their shoes?
Like the Championship side, it may take a fair number of years before Sussex become competitive enough to reach the QFs, let alone vie for the Trophy.
All very sad given the Club's illustrious history re: this tournament.
Let us hope the team can win their last two home matches (July 1st and 3rd) and allow supporters to end on a high.

I agree I see no absolutely no point playing Beer, Bopara and Mills (no room for the sentiment of the first game being against Essex) or Finn playing. I suspect Khan will play.

Andrew's little cash cow's had its final milking. Bo-pop wants a bigger squad with more experienced batters. That'll please the boss.
Hopefully all the bosses and the captain will be gone by September, along with all the specialists, walking wounded and old men. Silly & Sponge have got the right idea, with a couple of relevant and probably permanent OS added.
Maybe aim a little lower than your Rashids & your Rizwans for stability in T20. As for the Champ, I reckon Pujara & Ishant.
