Can we get Pujara back next year ? You’d hope the question had been asked.

Can we get Pujara back next year ? Hopefully yes. Will Karveles be the second overseas player? Carter for Ward and open with Alsop next game.

We'll get Pujara & his twin, no problem.
If Karvelas is so good, and he's clearly at least pretty good, why on earth did the morons on the top floor let the Champ side attack wilt so badly & waste money on stop-gap loans while he was bowling in the 2s? Gordy can claim it was another good move by Greenfield but the reality is they gave him a game out of desperation, too late, and then got lucky so claimed it was an OS signing to appease people who aren't dumb and ask the question. Those two at the top really are the luckiest incompetents I've ever known. And if these young players they threw in & banked on were average, where the hell would we be now? Luckiest dumb-asses ever these two. They gotta go cos luck has scales.
Bit easier controlling left arm darts than leggies Joe. We got two top 17/18 year olds there. Well done again to Rawlins too, another breakthrough season.

www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/english-one-day/table Massive week ahead, playing the two bottom sides, Durham and Somerset, who are both winless after 5 games. Two wins would take us to 10 points after 7 games, before our final game next week against Table topping Middlesex GOSBTS

"And at least they, like their Sussex counterparts, had been watching cricketers who represented a geographical area in which most of them had learned their cricket and to which they owed allegiance. It is worth treasuring such things in a month when the plastic creations of marketing men are blindly worshipped and there are vandals at the gates of the city." Lovely article

Team selection for away game at Durham? Ward has to go. He has now had 5 opportunities and doesn't look able to adjust his game. Maybe Hunt for Crocombe? What about "1 over" Ibrahim? Maybe Hudson Prentice and Carter will get an opportunity?
Durham and Somerset no mugs; can we go to the Middlesex game with two more wins on the board?

I despair. The management continue to pick Ward; and mess around with Alsop's batting position where he can get in and build an innings. Words fail me. Let's hope our bowlers can get early wickets. Come on Sussex.

Currie doing the business. 24 for 2 off 5.2

Currie doing the business. 24 for 2 off 5.2 A feature of our Royal London Cup campaign this season has been our ability to take early wickets. Notts 38-3 (11.4 overs) Glos 37-3 (5.5 overs) Leics 30-6 (11.1 overs) Surrey 55-4 (11 overs) Evidence if indeed it was needed of the impact Karvelas and Currie have had on the team and the bowling unit. I hope actions are in place to secure them on a more permanent basis. Although I accept given the former's overseas status it could be more difficult if we wish to retain Pujara and have greater aspirations for a more high profile overseas bowler next season.
