Decent score. Fell away a little at the end, but I reckon we would have taken that at the start. I feel for Clark, looks really good, but just can't go on to get that big score. Our overseas makes his mark and another good knock by Bopara. Hopefully, our bowlers can finish the job. We think we have problems. Did I hear right? Middlesex have lost eleven on the spin? They’ve lost 7 on the bounce, 8 after tonight 😉 Just checked, they lost their last four matches in their 2022 campaign. That explains the eleven straight defeats. As you say Joe, hopefully we can extend that by one more tonight. |

Love a close game especially if we come out on the right side of it. I had my doubts with Mills going at 12 an over and 12 needed off the last but he came good at the end.

Great game for the neutral, even better game for Sussex supporters.
Brilliant last over from Mills, even more brilliant catch from Coles.
I thought we were going to pay for not pushing on from 150-4 after 16 overs and finishing nearer 200.
We nearly did, but the match defining moment was the Coles catch (he has taken a few this campaign). Saved a certain six, secured the wicket and made the delivery a dot ball. Had he not taken it, we would have lost. He also took twelve runs off the last over in our innings.
He won't get it, but should be Man of the Match. He was the deciding factor.
We have a long way to go to get back to where we were in this format, but a lot better tonight. We were competitive and kept going right to the last ball.

Big boost to morale. Credit to Shadab for rising above his recent poor form and showing us what he can do. Great to see us holding our nerve at the end of each innings.
