Following recent discussions, I am proposing to require all threads on the board to be cricket related. Off topic posts on cricket related threads may be removed.
I note that most threads in 'Off Topic' are created by a single member and there are many more suitable places on the internet to discuss the topics.
This is all our board so discussion welcome.

Far be it from me to step on anyone’s ‘tiptoes’ but the old admin would have booted a certain person off the board by now for some of the salacious comments he’s made.

It sounds like the reason for removing the Off Topic section is because one persons posts so much dross on there. I never had a problem with it in the past. Surely, it’s a question of making sure it’s of some general interest. I would quite like an other sports section if nothing else, particularly as stuff loosely linked to cricket or Sussex can be discussed.

I will look into it. Might be a good opportunity to have a sweep of some on the unused folders, and streamline it a little to make it more user friendly maybe. |

I agree with sixandout. The only reason we have reached this stage is because one poster has abused the system
to the ninth degree.
An off-topic section offers alternative reading away from cricket, so long as the subject is interesting and so long
as it adheres to the same Forum rules. A few years back, I started a thread about the rigged 2020 U.S Presidential
Election which not only attracted a lot of interest and controversy, but a healthy number of views.
Deal with the abuse, not the off-topic section.

If you go to the Other Sport section and read the relevant post I made, if I had edited it would show in the bottom right hand corner, but the fact there is nothing there. Same with the Rolf Harris lie. I never called him a National Treasure or words to that effect. I asked you to find the offending post and you came up with the same canard that I had edited it (which I hadn't) but you had kept the original so I asked you to reveal it, but you couldn't.
