That goal ruined my 10-1 treble. I thought 0-0 was a certainty.

Last night felt like Brighton were back to their De Zerbi best. A high quality and high tempo'd performance.

Would love to know what went through RDZ’s head when he came up with today’s selection involving 3 CBs and 3 FBs. Yes, he had some injuries and a suspension to contend with and he wanted to keep some players fresh for the Roma game on Thursday but he still had better options than that.
Too many managers, when under pressure, overthink it and develop strange new formations with various people playing out of position. Graham Potter was very prone to this. It very seldom works. On the positive side, Barcelona, Liverpool and Man Utd, if they really did have designs on poaching RDZ, may be having second thoughts. However, that still leaves Chelsea of course and their fans are moaning about their manager once again!

Lots of intrigue about the departure of RDZ announced today, supposedly by mutual consent. The Sun assumes he jumped whereas We Are Brighton (the highly recommended online fanzine) reckons he was pushed.
For what it’s worth, I’m prepared to accept the official version. RDZ is ambitious. He wants to be competing in Europe. He’s been agitating for more experienced signings. Tony Bloom thinks longer term. He has a method which has worked very well. It involves giving highly promising young players early exposure of Premier League football. He’s built a stockpile of young talent eager for their opportunities. I suspect RDZ and TB just haven’t been able to bridge the gap.
I’m happy to maintain the method that’s worked so well for us. Eagerly awaiting the announcement of our next manager. I’m not expecting it to take very long.

So we made it 3 wins from 3 this year in a game that wasnt a particularly pretty watch. Tone was set with a horrific challenge on Matt O'Riley which should have resulted in a straight red. Lets hope O'Rileys recovery is quick and no lasting damage. Crawley clearly set their stool out to go in with heavy tackles to unsettle us and it certainly worked in the first half. Clear gulf in quality shone through in the 2nd half and the scoreline probably flattered Crawley who were good in possession and if they would have focused on this facet of the game rather tahn trying to kick 7 bells out of us they may have been more successful.
