After last nights excitement we are back at home facing Surrey for the second time.
Can’t imagine there’ll be any changes unless Mills can’t do back to back games in which case I’d bring in Karvelas.
We remain top of the group with a game in hand over Somerset in second.

Don't think I've looked forward to a game this much in years. Only thing we can improve on over last night was the powerplay bowling which let Essex get off to a bit of a flier, it's been better in other games.

We’ve had the statement wins. Now comes the acid test. Yep weve made the statement now we need to back it up with consistency over the whole group stage.

Why didn't Coles bowl the 2nd over? The Sussex tactics are mysterious.

66/1 in the PP. FHP and McAndrew getting hammered. Another poor powerplay, but the luck was very much on Surrey's side. Plenty of inside edges and a couple of lofted shots finding gaps in the field. Robinson aside, we don't seem to have found the right formula for those first six overs. Good to see Robinson being used in full up top. Can we claw it back again as we did last night?

Dragging it back a little now. RR down to 8 when it was up above 10.
Edit, Smith now opening up, dangerous batter.

Well well well just when you thought they were gaining momentum again on comes Danny Lamb and takes out the 2 set batters in one over and they were his first T20 wickets for Sussex.

Recognising the risk of speaking too soon, looks like our run is coming to an end tonight.
