Just 21 days to go before the first cricket of the season is played at Hove. Hard to believe.

After being nominated for a Nobel Peace prize for his work as Prime Minister of Pakistan, there cannot be any other former Sussex cricketer who has achieved as much since leaving the gates of Hove. And to think his South Kensington flat was once described as, "A 1960s art gallery crossed with a sultan's harem."

Isn't this the way with the establishment. A scandal brews. The coach takes the rap. Leaves his job. Goes off to the wilderness for a period of time to wait for the 'Heat' to fade and the media to lose interest in the said scandal and then Abracadabra, you return to start again. Simples! www.youtube.com/watch?v=7QyoRzZrF00

This is the perfect way of describing the etiquette of cricket to a visiting alien.

No surprise that Mark Ramprakash has been sacked as England batting coach after his bizarre interview some weeks ago when he suggested that his inability to find a new and consistent opening International pair was due to the 18 county groundsmen's fault for preparing poor pitches. unofficialsussexccc.freeforums.net/post/30112/threadEven I would have been a little more tactful. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/47504155And to add an additional bizarreness to this story, Nasser Hussain has come out supporting Ramprakash by stating it is the England players' fault and not his. What?? Say that to the Manchester United fans who are still pinching themselves after Ole Gunnar Solskjær has taken over from Mourinho. Of course it's the bloody Coach's fault. Nasser you really need to jump off the 'jobs for the boys' line and stop supporting your cricketing mates. It is highly unprofessional.

5 years coaching England and not one new batter introduced into the team, who has stayed. Says it all, useless coach.
Always blames someone else. No real surprise as Ramps lacked the mental toughness to be a test cricketer and that shows in the current team.

We're off and running... well, in South Africa, at least.
