To combat the poor crowds and low scores in the new T20 Bash, the England and Wales Cricket Board has formulated an emergency six-point plan to make the competition more attractive and exciting:-
1. Games to be played with a seamless ball to prevent any chance of movement disconcerting the batsmen.
2. Any delivery the batsman doesn't hit - including those that disturb the stumps - to be called wide.
3. No fielders allowed outside the circle at any time.
4. All games to be played on drop-in pitches in soccer stadiums thus creating invitingly short boundaries and bringing the crowds 'closer to the action'.
5. Games to be played at 3am to attract the post-clubbing crowd after all other bars have closed.
6. Twenty-overs-a-side format to be reduced to ten to ensure all matches in the T10 Bigger Bash are over before dawn.
This plan is in response to popular demand, based on a focus group of two people out of their heads on ecstasy at the Ministry of Sound last night.

It's just beginning to dawn on me that you're not totally impressed with our new domestic T20 'tournament'.

Forgot to mention the golden bullet: the new T10 Bigger Bash will be fully 'interactive', with the final over of each innings to be bowled by a member of the crowd, selected by a drinking competition to be held during the first nine overs.

Great! I'm glad the these people are thinking on their feet at last. Will these new rules be applied before the Emu mating season starts? It's not the be-all and end-all but Emus tend to do their 'hugging' between 3am and 6am and watching it is putting me off my breakfast.
