After the elephants of the Warwickshire coaching team did their business over the championship game, here is the Lord Mayor's show of the T20. May the successes of the last three games outweigh the huge disappointments of the Edgbaston experience.

I'd take this opportunity to wrap in cotton wool, our main bowlers that are likely to feature in Sunday's big championship game, especially if we don't have another seamer lined up. So, for me, Magoffin, Robinson, Hobden, and even Zaidi, must sit out the game. With that in mind, my 12 for the Middlesex game, is big on spinners, but in T20, that's rarely a problem.

Have to play the strongest team because the southern T20 group is turning out to be a fantastic battle for the four quarter-final places with 4 pts seperating 8 teams and only Middx out of contention. It is vital Sussex qualify after two very poor T20 seasons.
Robinson and probably Zaidi should play rather than Piolet and Burgoyne.
Is Yardy fit?
As for Beer, a vital member of the T20 side, he must look at the combined CC figures of Dockrell and Burgoyne (1-293) and wonder what on earth he has done wrong to be exiled to Oxfordshire...

Yardy played for the seconds in the first of the three T20s against Hong Kong so presumably is fit. I don't think we can afford the luxury of resting Robinson.

Yardy is indeed in the squad as is practically the entire population of Brighton and Hove including, intriguingly Ed Joyce.

Sussex taking a 15 man squad to Lords, including eight who weren't part of the Brum bore-fest.
No Magoffin, Wells, Zaidi or Burgoyne (who seems to have been discarded as swiftly as Dockrell was) but just about everyone else fancies a night out at HQ - even Ed Joyce is in the squad.
If Ed is determined to play I guess Machan or Cachopa misses out. But I'd go

Second Bailey was meant to read Brown. I think I must have got confused by our wicket-keeper turning into a bowler yesterday!

The team is: CD Nash, LJ Wright*, MW Machan, Craig Cachopa†, GJ Bailey, HZ Finch, WAT Beer, SA Piolet, MH Yardy, CJ Liddle, TS Mills
Middx 2-0 after Sussex inserted them.

134 to win, I'll settle for that Good bowling from Sussex and especially from Mills Odd though, that our most economical bowler didn't complete his overs

Following via sky go on phone so tiny screen. But mills looked fantastic - fit, fired up and focussed. He had a strut about him too that reminded me of the windies quicks in the 70s/80s. So what is his frigging problem? He bowled some at 92mph and then back of the hand perfect dipping yorkers at 70 mph. Fantastic stuff as Sussex go top of the table.

He looked a class act! his injury is linked to longer spells and when he has to bowl 2nd and 3rd spells in a day so they have said to reduce number of overs he bowls!
