With us now effectively out of this competition I would play the following XI:
Haines Finch Bailey Yardy (c) Salt (Zaidi is injured and Garton is with England U19) Hudson-Prentice Jackson (+) Beer Piolet Thomas Liddle Mills

Incidentally, if Ash Zaidi is injured, how come he played for Bexhill yesterday?

Incidentally, if Ash Zaidi is injured, how come he played for Bexhill yesterday? I thought he was. He batted done at nine for the seconds and someone said he was injured. If not then he should play instead of Salt.

Is it really worth perservering with Bailey? I guess we are hoping he finds form for the 20/20 QF but I'd rather Brown just as a bat or someone came in for a chance to boost their confidence for the next LV game, they could hardly do any worse.
Also I'd lose a bowler if only to comply with rules...

Won the toss and asked Middlesex to bat, an unchanged team

Bowlers going through the motions and some pretty shoddy fielding. A brainless 31st over by Robinson including a no-ball for height plus a free hit for six. I wonder which side of the batsmen we'll see later?

Should be a walk in the park for a team high on confidence with inspirational leadership.

Should be a walk in the park for a team high on confidence with inspirational leadership. And that's the snag! Sky comms not impressed with Sussex fielding and body language.

Sussex will think they've always got a chance as long as Wright and Nash are there. Plan B, presumably, will be Bailey. Plan C?

Let it rain, let it rain, let it rain! It can rain for the next four hours as far as I'm concerned. We might as well have made six changes tonight and played the team I suggested as the level of commitment and effort from Sussex has been abysmal. The fielding and body language was appalling. The coach needs to stop molly coddling them and instead give them a kick up the arse! The players and coaches job's should be on the line unless performances in the remainder of the season improve significantly as they are nothing short of a disgrace at the moment.
