Apparently Chris has left the club Wish him well, and hope he gets fixed up with another county Let's hope so. We need to move forward, bring in better quality players and bring down the average age of the squad which contained no fewer than 14 players aged 30 or over out of 31. It wouldn't surprise me if 10 of 15 oldest players were moved on. The only younger players I don't expect to see here next season are Burgoyne and Dockrell.

Sort of, but not sure how reliable it is. The same person told me Piolet also left, back in August, and that was never mentioned

Perhaps the club wants to make one big announcement to cover all the changes, rather than do it piecemeal.

They announced at the dinner last night that Liddle is leaving, I spoke to him and he said he's in talks with 4 counties but wants to stay down south, so essex or kent most likely.

Is it April 1st? On a serious note Essex or Kent would be perfect for Liddle.

Odd if he went to Essex, having just lost Ryan Topley to take on someone 10 years older and a good bit slower. I wish him well but I think his prospects are quite limited.

Essex seam bowling options Ten Doeschate 6w @ 24 Winslade 4w @ 24 Bopara 20w @ 25 Ryder 44w @ 25 Napier 35w @ 28 Porter 50w @ 28 Masters 20w @ 30 Moore 3w @ 32 Ten Doeschate, Bopara, Ryder, Napier, Porter and Masters likely to be first choice but with only Winslade and Moore in reserve. The first three are primarily in fo their batting. They have given Under 17 captain and seam bowling all-rounder Aaron Beard a contract for next season. Essex need a new spinner having released Panesar and realistically with neither Malik nor Nijjar being the answer. On the subject of Pettini who is probably Essex's reserve wicketkeeper right now, is he still going to Leicestershire?

Yes I also wish him well, he turned out to be surprisingly useful over the years for us in white ball stuff, but it's time to move on.
