I thought Kent supporters were dysfunctional. But you lot are certifiable. Is it the sea air or did the water supply get contaminated by the fracking at Balcombe?

No idea - I work with computers but they be mainframes, the dinosaur of the computer age.
If you work with mainframes, you will find this a doddle. All you are probably going to do to get things going, is change some clearly marked radio buttons, and If you know a little HTML you can change the whole appearance. The SDK behind this is pretty advanced and very stable, there is also a pretty extensive plugin library and most are free. So you can do some nifty stuff with twitter, live scores and RSS feeds if you want. You just need the other members of the board to decide how they want to drive things forward. |

Well done lawnmower, and to ketmandid and deepfineleg if they are going to be modertors.
I had refrained from logging in until the guest posting thing was fixed.
I think the new board will now be fine as I believe everyone who has registered has done so with goodwill and a determination to make it work and will support the moderators in whatever way we all can.Membership now up in the mid-70s, I see.
Hopefully now the board is up and running properly, we can get back to talking about cricket with three games over the next three days - Surrey and Middx in the T20 and then Sri Lanka on Sunday.
The game v Middx is on Sky Sports, by the way, if anyone wasn't aware.

I will second borderman's thanks to those who've come forward to moderate and wish you every success. Let's all try to work together to make this a truly democratic posting forum that respects the views of all parties.
As far as the comment about the inner circle gors, I think its probably more realistic to recognise that this board has come about because Sussex CCC no longer see it as desirable to offer this kind of facility, preferring to concentrate on marekting-centred social media sites. I can understand why they would do this, and also why they would not want to comment on it. In the absence of that comment rumour, gossip and fabrication have all flourished. Let's try to put that all behind us and communicate effectively and constructively as lovers of cricket,and of Sussex cricket in particular.

Cor, strike a light, hadn't looked on this thread for days and what depressing reading it made.
Once the thing with the names had been pointed out they did make me chuckle but overall it was like the last days of the old message board. Many of the posts by 'guests' seemed designed for one thing only, and that was to bring this board down too. If I hadn't read them I wouldn't have believed them, it's quite sad really.
