If they don't get 5 more balls and 3/5 more runs depending on whether a wicket falls then they only have their bowlers to blame for conceding 26 extras not to mention all those extra balls which had to be bowled! The death bowling was absolute rubbish.

Frustratingly, Essex struggling too. How on earth can we lose this game to Glamorgan?

This game should have been wrapped up had we bowled two overs of illegal deliveries.

It's like watching a Brian Rix farce. Ground staff bring on the covers just as it stops raining, so they take them off again before even settling them down. Good question Fb about D/L. Just asked that question myself but do the rules apply to a 14 over game? People seem puzzled here. Looks like play may continue as the outfield is being swished by the tractors. At least The Who are now playing on the tannoy - everything is alright in bizarre-land tonight as the rain returns. Can't remember a night like this for a long time. Covers coming back on and tractors given up. Hey-Ho. Rain stopped again - ground staff given up on what to do next. Go home if I were you! Covers returned to the boundary rope. Back in the tractors for more swishing until it all repeats itself in another few minutes.

Zaidi steers Essex home which spares us the risk of a quarter final defeat, I suspect.

As David Lloyd would say "get on with the game".

Lizzie Ammon gone nuts in the Comms box. She's doing some sort of crazy dance and smokes coming off her head. It's one of those nights folks.
Meanwhile, the Bangladeshi boys have now left the building. What lovely people. They were like kids in a sweet shop. Never seen so many pics and selfies taken with them and the media types. My stomach muscles have cramp after breathing in so much. They were loving every minute. Cricket to them is Very special and Everything that surrounds it. Rain back. Ground staff given up for good. They all need a stiff whisky.
MATCH ABANDONED - 1 POINT EACH - SUSSEX OFFICIALLY OUT OF THE T20 TOURNAMENT.

If Sussex don't win this they only have themselves to blame as they bowl 12 illegal deliveries in 14 overs which is absolute disgrace as was the bowling in the final two overs.

May I suggest the bowlers spend the rest of the week practicing how to keep their foot behind the line and how to bowl at the stumps. How hard can it be to bowl at the stumps? A £1,000 fine for every illegal delivery would probably focus the mind. If you fail to win because you bowled 13 illegal deliveries when you only needed 5 more balls to get a result then you only have yourselves to blame.

Never for one minute thought we would qualify for finals day. For me, these remaining games are about (hopefully) seeing the signs that this much heralded, Davis/Wright partnership, might just be worth persevering with next season. At the moment you'd have to say, it's looking unlikely, the performances are that abject. There is still time for them to learn from their mistakes, and a decent run of form, would give us a bit of hope for 2017

Good and bad bowling on the same night. The first over from Mills was technically a maiden yet the score was 8 for 1. I couldn't stop myself saying "what a terrible over" which incensed a fellow spectator and would probably have incensed those that clapped Mills to his fielding position at the end of the over. Garton bowled well. Archer bowled one too many and Jordan only bowled 1.2 - did our skipper get confused? We showed why that bowling attack should have seen us qualify for the latter stages. But 26 extras - well, I give up. It seems that we constantly concede more extras than our opponents whatever format we play. If we had not conceded 26 extras and had to deliver a stack of extra deliveries we could have won on Duckworth Lewis with ease. Indeed, we should have won easily.
It's always easy to come up with ifs and buts over a season and T20 is a funny format where games can quickly go one way or the other. However, last night's result, the home defeat to Hampshire and the rained off game at Hampshire meant that we did not qualify when we should have done. As an aside, Glamorgan looked appalling with the bat. How they are 2nd I will never know.
