The Friday night crowd against Kent at Hove was 40 less than the Sunday crowd against Somerset at Arundel. My personal view is that the t20 started a month too early and this is reflected in crowds. Seems unlikely that this will be moved back by more than a couple of weeks in 2015.

Seems unlikely that this will be moved back by more than a couple of weeks in 2015. Even two weeks would help. The T20 Bash started on May 16. If it was moved back two weeks to start on June 1st that would be an improvement. Starting in mid-June would be even more sensible. Playing games in daylight (Sunday afternoons or 5.30 on a Friday) rather than starting at 7 pm and finishing at 10pm would be better still.

With the final round of championship fixtures due to end on September 26th we could have had a situation where major issues were decided by which counties were playing at grounds with floodlights. As it happens the three significant matches are at Old Trafford, Swalec and Chelmsford which all have lights.
It is fortunate for Yorkshire that they have already claimed the title because if the current weather system persists in Leeds there will be significant periods lost to bad light in the upcoming match v Somerset. In fact on recent days it is extremely doubtful if any play would have occurred in the persistent gloom.
Perhaps until such time as all counties have floodlights it would be fairer if there use was not permitted for the final round of matches when the disparity could be so significant.
