Nash Wright Salt Taylor Brown Rawlins Archer Jordan Beer Garton Mills
Who's with me?
Swap Brown for an OS hard hitting batsman/wicky and I'm talking down town.

A bottom of the Southern league table clash which is a must win for Sussex. Much is going for us in this home game including the club usually fairs well against Middlesex and their top seamer, Roland-Jones, picked for England and not playing.

Persistent rain forecast. Another 1 point game, I fear.

Oh dear! As you say the forecast has changed from yesterday's fair weather with sunny spells to now persistent rain. What a shame for both supporters and the club. After a fantastic start to the Summer the changed weather reminds one of 2012.

Will be gutted if the rain stops the game as think this is only one of three Friday nights games here, always better for crowd, atmosphere etc. Fingers crossed for a change in forecast.

If you're going with that premise then you should bring Wiese in for Jordan!

Has been a little more expensive recently but still holding out hope for a more all-rounder role for him! Sussex fan....got to hold out hope!

Weather seems to be improving maybe we'll have a chance to complete a full game and get the 2 points after all which would put us closer to top 4.
I feel this one is a must win with Sunday at Taunton looking thundery and bleak... English summers ay!

The break for rain didn't do us any favours. Runs coming in all directions.

The break for rain didn't do us any favours. Runs coming in all directions. Didn't help but still fantastic as a bowling side. Looks like the rain is going to hinder us a good crack at the 2 points again. So frustrating 😤

Match abandoned, that's 4 of the 7 games we've played which have been rain affected. Doesn't look as if we'll get a game on Sunday either, thunder storms forecast for Taunton.
Wright has an inflamed disc in his back and Mills has another torn hamstring!
All going to plan then.

Why wasn't the game called off 30 minutes earlier? There was no way they were ever going to play again once it got to 9pm. I felt the umpires and groundstaff were under pressure from Sky to get the game on and that the game was not called off before 9:30pm to maximise beer sales.

As it was always going to be a wet evening, I decided in the afternoon not to make the journey to Hove. I watched the truncated action on TV, and was astonished at how many people had defied the weather forecast. Nowhere near a full house, but still a lot of folks must have gone home wet and disappointed.
