Barrow's trip will surely be Cheltenham. Have they ditched the day night championship game? No one day game at Arundel. No Tunbridge Wells and cannot do Canterbury as an away trip because I am working on Sunday 13th May.

Bad news on the Championship front: We play Middlesex and Warwickshire twice. The teams we only play once are Kent, Northants, Glamorgan & Derbyshire.

A Laughable system in my opinion, and one which could well cost us promotion.

Also, 3 away games to finish the season (all midlands or north) will not help our cause either. Just spotted the error in the press release, the Warwickshire game is at Hove - it just has Warwickshire as the first team.

Why have we yet again drawn the short straw of having a day night championship game at home? How many times must something be tried before the ECB admits its a complete failure? Glamorgan have floodlights so why is their home game against Northants on 25th June not a day night game?

Why are six counties playing a day night championship game at Hove for the second season running? It can't be that hard for the other teams to play a day night game this time round!

What was wrong with the following nine fixtures?

Division 1

Lancashire v Yorkshire
Somerset v Essex
Surrey v Hampshire
Worcestershire v Nottinghamshire

Division 2

Derbyshire v Northamptonshire
Gloucestershire v Glamorgan
Kent v Durham
Leicestershire v Warwickshire
Middlesex v Sussex

Anyone who doesn't have floodlights forfeits the points.

Have I missed something? Why isn't this Australian fixture on June 7th on the list? Another great coup for the club. I can't believe
there is so much good news coming out of Hove. How long can this last?

Answered my own question. Closer inspection and the match was only confirmed today. At this rate, I may learn the Australian National

I always look forward to the day that the fixtures are announced - both for football and cricket. I think it goes back as far as my childhood, to be honest. The County Championship fixtures interest me most though. The imbalance caused by playing 7 of the 9 teams at home and 7 of the 9 away seems to be better for us in 2018.

In 2017, we played the two relegated sides and the top two non-promoted sides, arguably the strongest four teams, both home and away. Of the previous season's bottom five, we only played Leicestershire home and away.

The 2018 season brings different challenges though. We play the two relegated sides home and away but this is balanced by playing the bottom two home and away. There's also a significant split in the home and away games. At home, we play the bottom 5 sides plus the two relegated sides (thus avoiding two games against 3rd and 5th placed Northants and Kent). Away from home though, we face the two relegated sides plus the top three non-promoted sides. I think this can make a difference. One extra win can make such a difference in the final tally.

In terms of venues, we only play at two ""outstations" for the 4 day games. We play at home to Durham at Arundel Castle and away to Gloucestershire at Cheltenham. Last season, we had three "outstation" County Championship games at Arundel Castle, Tunbridge Wells and Colwyn Bay.

In the Royal London Cup, we play at Eastbourne again this season. However, there is no T20 game at Arundel Castle this year.

Of the 18 counties, we will not play Yorkshire, Lancashire, Worcestershire or Notts unless we meet in a later round of the Royal London One Day Cup or the T20 Blast.

We play both Middlesex and Gloucestershire in five games – Middlesex play in all formats at Hove while we travel to Gloucestershire three times but one game is at Cheltenham.

Just 135 days to the first County Championship game of the new season.

I think you mean Notts rather than Northants.

Another observation about this year's County Championship fixtures. We have one home game in each of the months April to August and two in September. Last year, we had one in April, one in May, two in June, one in July and two in September. The game in July last year was at Arundel, which meant no CC games at Hove between 29 June and 12 September. This year, the Arundel game is in June plus we have two home games during the T20 Blast months.

Good news, I'd say.
