All you have to do is to predict the final County Championship Division 2 table. At the end of the season, I'll tot up the scores. As for the scoring system, you will lose 1 point for each league table place that each county finishes from your prediction. In other words, if you predict that Sussex will come sixth and they come fourth or eighth, you would lose 2 points. Likewise for the other 9 counties. The entrant with the least points, of course, wins. The prize?? The glory of winning and your name in the News Headlines on this forum for three whole days. A separate thread will follow for the Royal London One Day Cup and T20 Blast, so save your predictions for those competitions.
The ten teams are (in alphabetical order):
Derbyshire Durham Glamorgan Gloucestershire Kent Leicestershire Middlesex Northamptonshire Sussex Warwickshire

The two relegated teams are bound to have strong seasons. Sorry to be thoroughly boring, but if Middlesex don't end up topping our division then I would think that they will have seriously underperformed. Accordingly, my predictions are as follows:
1. Middlesex 2. Northants 3. Warks 4. Sussex 5. Durham 6. Glam 7. Kent 8. Glos 9. Derbyshire 10. Leics
Somehow think that my bottom 5 will rather get cut adrift, points wise, as the season progresses. Sadly, my realism rather overrules my heart. Would be nothing better for the season than all 10 teams being highly competitive, but it is really hard to think that this might become a reality.

I can't see past Middlesex being top. As for Sussex, I don't think we have enough to challenge.
1. Middlesex 2. Warwickshire 3. Northants 4. Sussex 5. Kent 6. Durham 7. Gloucestershire 8. Glamorgan 9. Derbyshire 10. Leicestershire

I agree with thread sentiment although being an optimist, I will turn to Jason Gillespie for miracles and his midas touch even though, imho, our batting is not strong enough to gain us promotion.
1. Warwickshire 2. Sussex 3. Middlesex 4. Durham 5. Northants 6. Kent 7. Glamorgan 8. Gloucestershire 9. Leicestershire 10. Derbyshire

Scores below out of 100 with 10 possible points per county. You lose one point for each position that a team is from your predicted position. Congratulations to sussexbythesea who is our early season leader, although, of course, some teams have played more/less games than others. Northamptonshire have been the biggest surprise to everyone. Here's the early season scores. sussexbythesea 78 @wicked cricket 74 joe 74 leedsmartlet 74 jimbon 72 dj101 72 philh 70 glosexile 66 liquidskin -2000

Errrr, what the hell's going on Mod? I may have had a slow start but don't rule out a late surge.
