The news, reported on Facebook, that “Four tractors and scarifiers are digging up the Nevill led by Sodexo” (who own Centerplate caterers) “to improve the drainage this week” does not fill me with much hope that we will be seeing any First Class cricket at Tunbridge Wells next season (see previous posts on Centerplate catering thread).

Well, you were right to say no 1st Class cricket - but there will be 3 x 50 over games (vs Hants, Glos & Durham - or whatever teams they can put out during the 100 nonsense).
Weather permitting, I will certainly go to one of them.

It's not on the calendar for next season. If there are no games there, then Kent aren't getting a penny of my money this year.

Yep, as I thought, no money from me to them then.

Yep, as I thought, no money from me to them then. Given the situation re: spectators (there may be none, or very few at best), the costs of bringing cricket to out grounds must be making all counties reconsidering. In past years TW council has subsidised the games there - would they be able to do that this year? I rather doubt it. Disappointing though it is hopefully it will only be missing for one year. If you are based in the west of the county, you will get some games at Beckenham which is closer to TW than it is to me! (Near Folkestone).
