Just a polite reminder that this year's book fair is on Sunday 16 November from 1000hrs. Borderman will be pleased to know that we have a reciprocal deal with all other cricket book fairs across the globe.
We will have a good range of stalls selling a variety of books and other memorabilia and Mrs Beck will be providing refreshments.
See you there.

A final reminder of this excellent occasion, with numerous stalls of books and memorabilia, just in time for Christmas too. I hope to meet some fellow posters there too - you can't miss me, the one with the eye-mask

Thanks to Jon Filby for organising this. I came home with 46 books, a record 'haul' from these events...
s&f was present with his best newshound reporters notebook in hand and I believe has a very good story to tell about the fair, which I look forward to reading in due course...
Meanwhile, I have some cataloguing to do!

I was very sorry to miss this, because of the perennial Sunday public transport problems that beset me whenever I want to go to Hove, making me feel like Alan Gibson, forever marooned at Didcot. Anyway, I can testify to borderman's smiling countenance later that day and the warmth of his remarks about Mr Filby's generous pricing.

Yep, I came away with a book to write and will break the Bookfair day down into 6 different articles to be published throughout the week when time affords. Everything from lifelong Sussex supporter remembrances to heart-warming stories from our Hove front gate steward Sam and his wife Sue, to a 'Day in the Life' of a 'serious' cricket book collector and extraordinary fundraising achievements from a local cricket club to replace their present dilapidated pavilion. Finally, what is the connection between umpire David Shepherd and Sheila Nicholls? unofficialsussexccc.freeforums.net/thread/3/softandfluffys-wicked-cricket-blog?page=17&scrollTo=5743
