Yes - let them concentrate on the 16.4 instead...

"Crucially, all 18 teams will retain first class status".
Ten games a season is perfect and as long as there is promotion and relegation it's a great idea.
Ultimately CP, if you don't move with the very changeable times, you'll die quicker. When has life ever stood still?
I'm gonna miss a like from the late great Flash on this post. This is reality, his specialist subject I reckon.

Do you think more teams should be added to division 2?

The problem for me is central contracts which reward failure Players on central contracts are too financially comfortable make them earn their money. Mark my words the six counties, which could include Sussex, will end up as minor counties.

I don’t see the benefit of this to anyone. If Sussex are one of the six, we can say goodbye to the likes of Robinson and Haines as well as the most promising youngsters. Playing 8 games in April and September is a far bigger issue.

Do you think more teams should be added to division 2? It's a tricky one and purists like myself will sadly see drastic change to the first class game. If you do 9 in each couldn't you have an 8 game season with the strongest available squads including 3 overseas players and England players.

The six counties will no longer be professional and the players will end up as semi-professional in the same way as non-league footballers.

I love the implied optimism in Philh's comment "IF Sussex are one of the six...." Based on where we find ourselves currently it's a nailed-on certainty that Sussex will be one of the six. We've barely won a game in two seasons.

We've barely won a game in two seasons. Im not sure that'll be on the ECB's criteria to be honest. I'd say it'll come down to a whole host of things including Community and Womens Cricket.

Up the ladies!
As long as there is Promotion and relegation there'll be no minor counties. It's just a re-vamped CC, as long as there's pros and rels.
If they wanna play ten games the 3 div system is perfect. I wrote a schedule for 3 divs on another thread, took me about 10 mins and it's absoloustley floorless.

What are they going to do with the reamaing 6 counties? Lump them together with the minor counties.
