Indeed a very difficult day to watch.
I completely agree about the 3 bowlers but we are limited in that department.
This is purely my opinion but for the head coach to be very indecisive about a first team captain worried me before the Notts game. Clearly he doesnt fancy Haines in that role for now.
We have to believe tomorrow we'll bojnce back

When you can’t compete against Derbyshire (home & away) - there is no process!! Those in charge coaches, director of cricket & chief executive have to be held accountable. Enough is enough!! I’m aware it’s only the 6th innings of the season & might seem an over reaction…….it’s not, it’s been coming all winter. Yet I’ll still be at Derby tmrw…….come on lads!! that wasn’t good at all by Sussex management need to I take a serious look at themselves this is not good enough fat to young a side with no experience need to blood the youngsters slowly not all together shame on you Sussex

It’ll be all over by lunch tomorrow.

Have we ever failed to get a single point from a championship game? Is this the worst Sussex team ever? Are Rob Andrew, Keith Greenfield and Ian Salisbury completely out of their depth and need putting out of their misery by being sacked?

😂😂😂🤦♂️ only because of a revolution 3 years earlier. Please don’t try and pretend we’re on a similar path. Mate you can twist words to sort you own narrative. The point being is people were making judgements then but the rewards in the long term were evident. I assume if we do win the CC in 3 years time you wont celebrate? Not sure I’m twisting anything, merely stating facts. The only twisting going on is someone trying to make out that everything’s hunky dory and all going well. Firstly, we won’t win the championship in 3 years time (we’d have to get out of division 1 first), but secondly, if we do, then yes of course I will, because it will only happen if we make some major changes at the top of the club (new chairman excused) and have a complete change in direction and policy, because I’m really struggling to work out what our current one is. I’ll say it again, please don’t try and pretend that we’re in the same position as in 2000, we are light years away from that. We were top of the table in August and just had an awful collapse after Michael Bevan went away on international duty. We also didn’t have players leaving in their droves being replaced by more youngsters.

Our bowling attack is depleted. Two overseas straight in; don't expect too much too soon. We are clearly going to struggle. The big disappointment is the lack of forward thinking to get a decent spinner on loan. Let's hope we can bat for two days. Clearly Haines is in good form but in his first innings he was batting like a lunatic. Calm down Tom (agree with water skin).

Again John if you actually read my posts rather than just want to criticise me ive said plenty of times things arent hunky dory but we have to trust the process.it isnt goung to be an overnight success. I can see Salisbury being the first to go if anyone does, maybe the Grant Flower appointment had more in it but its just a guess.

Was it good balls that got Pujara and Rizwan out or poor shots?

An average player and an absolutely woeful director of cricket (arguably the worst in the history of the game) Sailsbury to take the director of cricket role and Grant Flower as first team coach Job done

I can’t imagine the new chairman is happy with the way this season is already shaping up. We can’t take many more games with a side so mismatched against every other team in the County Championship, and seeing how those who’ve left are already making their mark at their new counties only rubs Salt in the wound (Ben Brown top scored for Hants yesterday).

Everyone agrees with water skin, otherwise they're stupid. Talking of which, a decent spinner on loan? Masood scored 150 runs in his first game, to go with 250 odd in his second. Don't make excuses for two OS players who simply threw their wickets away, albeit under immense scoreboard pressure. If you pick three bowlers your bowling attack will be depleted even if you have Warne, McGrath & Donald. One of them will get injured on your part-timers will bowl 45+ overs. Can't have it both ways. I actually done part-timers an injustice by calling Haines, Coles & Clark part-timers. They have about 10 wickets between them, they're not even part-timers. I hope we get what we deserve from this game, a crushing innings defeat, and either people wake up and see the management for the fools they are or at the very least, Salisbury wakes up and never plays with just three bowlers again. We turned up to lose, so we should. Nobody has ever played with three bowlers before, ever. We should go down in cricketing history as a how not to, from this game.
