Two losers (3rd and 4th in Southern group) to get through to the T20 final ahead of Somerset and Hampshire (North group winners Warwickshire and second place Lancashire went out in the quarter final).
Is it time to dispense with the quarter final and go straight through to final days with the top two so that the best teams actually get through to finals day?

CP, the first change that must be made is for all teams, in each div, to play all other teams in their div home and away. Until this happens the tournament is fundamentally flawed.

Agreed it feels a little dated and to me slightly odd the format sill allows for 4 teams from 1 group to reach finals day, something is clearly wrong. The group stages as said before i think should be seeded based on previous years. I like finals day having 3 games so i'd use the current IPL format for play offs Qualifier 1: This is between the first and second place teams Eliminator: This involves the teams ranked third and fourth, the loser of this game is immediately eliminated. Qualifier 2: The loser of Qualifier 1 will then take on the winner of the Eliminator. Final: This is contested between the winner of Qualifier 1 and Qualifier 2 You would use this for each group with the group final effectively being the semi final and then the 2 winners meet. It mainly rewards you for coming 1st and 2nd in your group.

We blew it in the semi. Only needed 7 an over and we were trying to slog it to the long boundary into the wind!!!
