How awful. I imagine, being a party alcohol would be involved, but even so it would take a lot to get that disorientated. It sounds very odd to me, and can't make it easy for his family, friends and colleagues to mourn with possibly so many unanswered questions.

The Book of Condolence in the Club Shop is continuing to attract a lot of attention but it is uncertain for how long it will be available. Perhaps, another week or so. The decision is down to Matthew Hobden's parents and family.
Meanwhile, there is no-more news on the tragedy.
The 'Daily Express' wrote yesterday: "Police Scotland have sent a standard “sudden death” report to the procurator fiscal but it is understood officers are waiting to see the results of toxicology tests following a post-mortem."
Anyone who can't travel to the Club Shop can send their condolence via email and this will then be included in the book.

A touching tribute to Matt in yesterday's England U19 World Cup game as the players wore black armbands in his memory.

Funeral today and memorial service on Friday in what is going to be a sad week not only for family and friends but for everyone in cricket, hence the touching tribute by the England Under-19s from afar yesterday.
A month on, death still unexplained and police investigation "ongoing", according to the Procurator Fiscal. Don't suppose that is going to make this week any easier for those most closely involved.

A very moving tribute from Luke Wright on Twitter today
Thinking of Hobsy and all his friends, all the boys and his poor family today. Wish we didn't have to say goodbye. Gutted. #RIPHobsy

After a quick google search I still can't find any updates on Hobden's inexplicable demise. What's with the hold-up? A tragic drunken slip or something more sinister? Very puzzling.

Just as the Hobden family are beginning the highly painful process of recovery from the loss of their son, Matt, life hits you with the ultimate reminder. His 23rd birthday would have been celebrated on Easter Sunday.
Life doesn't get more ruthless than that!

His 23rd birthday would have been celebrated on Easter Sunday. Life doesn't get more ruthless than that! It is a weekend full of poignance: today would have been Tom Maynard's 27th birthday. How quickly the time has gone, and how heavy is the sense of waste.

And don't forget the 14th anniversary of Ben Hollioake's passing two days ago due to his car crash in Australia alongside Sussex CCC Umer Rashid's 14th anniversary of his Grenada drowning on Sunday week!
