I don't think I shall ever take the Argus seriously again. Have a look at Tim Ridgway's column in Monday's paper, and the headline (in something like 72 pt type):
Don't right off the Greens just yet
Unbelievable...

They seem to have found the money to employ a sub-editor now because this is the current heading for the story: Kermit is right, it’s not easy being Green Not a great story though, a hackneyed reworking of "on the one hand this, on the other hand that".

Have a look at Mail Online and you'll find some crackers. Higher purchase was a good one and referring to the Queen's sixty years of servitude was even better. Who will sub the subs themselves?

To be fair confusing 'write' with 'right' is one of the most common spelling errors as is the grammatical 'its' rather than 'it's'. Blame it on poor sub-editing, although one suspects this article got published without that beady eye.

Its and it's is a grammatical error, but there's no sense or logic in confusing write with right, unless you also confuse write with wrong

BBC News on the Internet www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-28286692 is now getting in on the act, in a story about Gavin Hastings becoming the first named "chieftain" (whatever that might be) for the Glasgow Commonwealth Games: He will be joined by some of Scotland's most successful sporting stars as fellow chieftains, whose duties involve hosting receptions and conducting VIP tours of the village. They include Olympic cycling gold medallist Sir Christ Hoy
