A remarkable bit of news that underlines the importance and the strength of the game in England at the level immediately below first class. Jeet Raval, the New Zealand left-hand opening batsman wil play as their overseas pro next year and Abidine Sakande will provide a bowling spearhead when not playing for Sussex. www.midsussextimes.co.uk/sport/cuckfield-pull-off-remarkable-double-signing-in-sakande-and-new-zealand-test-opener-1-7818060Cuckfield have a long record of making importnat signings of potentially world-class players at an earlier stage of their development. In 2006 and 2007 Saeed Ajmal developed his skills on English wickets; Keshav Maharaj of South Africa played for them in 2013; last year's overseas pro Jordan Silk has been a high-profile batsman in the Big Bash in Australia. They have also had a strong association with Sussex. In recent years players like Steven Piolet, Paul Havell and Alex Edwards have been Cuckfield regulars whilst trying to break into the Sussex team.

Dont think this underlines the strengh of game just what club has a benefactor willing to pay cost. Think you find only Nomads, East Grinstead and Cuckfield are able to fund such signings
