100 per cent support for the "Free Palestine/Save Gaza" wrist band he wore in the Test match today.
And well done to the ECB for supporting his stance and saying it was not a political statement but a humanitarian one.
I am not a Muslim, but my daughter-in-law and grandchildren are, so I wish Moeen Ali and every other supporter of the Palestinian cause eid mubarak.

And since the ICC reprimanded Ali, another 100 Palestinian civilians, including seven entire families, have been murdered (on the most holy festival in the Islamic calendar) and the Israelis have indiscriminately bombed mosques and directly targeted Gaza's main TV station and its only power plant in so-called "self defence". Can the ICC explain how opposing the murder of civilians - who are supposed to be protected under international law - is "political, religious or racial"? THe ECB got it right : Ali's support is humanitarian and the way the rest of the world is allowing Israel to bomb Gaza back into the Middle Ages is shameful.
If Mo Ali had called for sanctions such as an international trade, sporting, cultural and and diplomatic boycott of Israel (as I believe should happen), that might be deemed "political". But opposing the murder of innocent people is not political; it's basic human decency.

Amjad Khan on facebook: "Awesome of Moeen and the ECB for supporting him. Perhaps there are bigger issues to combat than an armband."
Like the genocidal slaughter of Palestinian women and children, perhaps?
Then Amjad retweeted: "Moeen Ali is the perfect role model for young cricketers in the UK. Model professional, a pin up for multicultural Britain."
It's lovely to read that. I must say that I miss Amjad and Monty. I don't miss Naved Arif, but it is a great shame that for diverse reasons Sussex has shed all of its British-Asian players. There is still an awful lot of racism in cricket. Not at Sussex,I hasten to add; but I know at least one county where Asian players are routinely refered to behind their backs by people who should know better as "chuts".
