Where are Atkins, Carson, Clark, Crocombe, Morgan, Orr, Pocklington, Sheffield, Storey and Ward? Is it any wonder we lost when such a weak side was selected? Pleased to see Collard and Lenham selected.

Hi all
I recently had the honour of covering the U17s ECB win in New Malden against Surrey ccc.
This squad of players, some of whom formed the backbone of the U15s ECB Cup winning team (2016) have been expertly coached over the years. They constantly do the simple things well plus there is real talent running right through. And they are a polite and engaging group of players.
They are now being mentored by our excellent new academy director Richard H which can only be a major positive.
The lads are looking after their studies and exams right now but will be back in County Champs action mid July. It will be very interesting to see how they go.
Our U17s are a real credit to Sussex ccc with some big opportunities to progress further here at Hove.

With Will Collard, Will Sheffield and Harrison Ward in their final year in the Academy who will replace them next year? In pole position this year I reckon it is Charlie Weir, Tom Hinley and Freddie Longley who have all impressed for Sussex Under 15 this season.

Not much has come yet from our link ups with Oxfordshire, Norfolk and Guernsey Only Harrison Ward, currently playing for the England U19s, is still involved with Sussex
