First off you have to say congratulations to Hampshire on their win but I was very disappointed in our performance in the final today. It felt like we chose the wrong decision at the toss, I questioned what on earth was Kuhn thinking going for that single? and it felt like we just weren't really trying to be aggressive enough to try and chase down the target without Kuhn. Too many chances to take more than one run were squandered and it felt more like a CC match than the final of the 50 over tournament.
What do others think of the match and what are others views on the booing of Northeast? (Which I partook in I admit)

However, I have to say I deplore the booing of a player who used to play for your team but decided to further his career by moving to another county. This behaviour is prevalent in football, and I just hope that cricket fans don't sink to that level. Why is it that some fans expect their loyalty to the club to be matched by the club's employees? These guys have a short career and are entitled to change employer if they believe it will develop their career - just like the rest of the population! You can't expect the players to be as loyal as the fans.

I wasn't there, but am disappointed to hear that Sam N was booed. Either polite applause or a dignified silence would have been far more fitting - and effective.

A shame we lost, obviously, but what a march to the final we had which overall is very encouraging.
I was down at Hove a year or so back for a T20 evening game and there were a lot of aggressive Kent fans "giving it large". It seems some of those types were unfortunately present at the final. I agree with the vast majority of people who have commented, the booing was completely out of order.
So, seeing as RKM has put his hand up to being one of those who booed, simple question, WHY? General boisterousness of the occasion or resentment at losing one of our best players? Are you not old enough to know better? And are you happy now?

Was the booing done in jest or with malice? Where do you draw the line between good ol' banter and harsh verbal abuse? Cricket has been wrestling with this dilemma for at least a decade. Should the Barmy Army be banned for some of their abusive chants against the opposition and particular players (eg. Mitchell Johnson)?
I don't see any solution. Who decides where that line is? And how can you stop it in the heat of the moment?

Because when you have a man who is the county captain and said he wants to stay for his career, then moving to a Div 1 club thinking he'll get more chance of being called up for England certainly justifies the sense of betrayal that was felt. Indeed, if there wasn't any booing, I probably would have started it. I did quip to one of the chaps sitting near me when they pondered what Billings and Northeast were talking about that Billings was saying "I play for England, you don't!" I stand by what I did and I would do so again.

I thought it was only football fans who expect players to share their sense of tribalism loyalty.
