We have seen an improvement, of sorts, in the likes of Salt and Finch However, this has been more than offset by the sharp decline in the form of Wright and Wells, and is the reason we haven’t improved in the Championship Yes, we’ve probably missed the experience of Van Zyl, but prior to his injury, he wasn’t exactly pulling up any trees

Last moan before T20 finals day which, hopefully, will put me in a better mood. I quite like the attitude of Phil Salt in general. Nobody could accuse him of not being ‘positive’. However, did anybody hear his chat in the box with Adrian Harms a couple of home matches ago? We were winning at the time so only now, after this last effort, does it jar. Adrian asked him about the coaching and what he got out of it. He replied something to the effect that he knows what he’s doing by now, and the coaches know that so only offer the odd hint whilst he unfurls his talent before them.
In view of very recent events, this kind of arrogance of the young needs sorting if he’s to progress at all in all forms of the game. He plainly can’t distinguish between the varying techniques needed to win in different situations.
Perhaps a word from somebody a little less nice than Mike Yardy?

Or you’d hope Yardy would be well qualified in telling him how to get your head down and get stuck in!

Yes - well if Mike is going to be appointed as ‘grinding out’ coach, can he have a word with a few others too?
