Usual rubbish from Garton. Try reducing your pace by 10mph and actually bowling properly FFS! No point bowling at 90mph if it is absolute c**p! Garton took the 2 key wickets and went at 5 an over! What the hell are you talking about?

Usual rubbish from Garton. Try reducing your pace by 10mph and actually bowling properly FFS! No point bowling at 90mph if it is absolute c**p! What on earth were you watching? Garton was brilliant. He was bowling slower balls into the wind from the off and put through a quicker one about one or two in six. I'm not sure there was a single wayward delivery. And Sakande, he was even better. But I'm just more baffled now in our management's decision to employ an overseas seamer when we have not one, in Garton, but two brilliant young quicks who should be playing week in week out at 22 and 24 respectively. When you consider that we need an experienced overseas opener, well, I find it bewildering. All the comms were swooning over these two, especially Sakande on this occasion. Right from the off his line and length was immaculate, his speed consistently mid 80s. His run up and action flawless. I can't fathom how a former fast bowler and supposedly good coach cannot detect this, which he clearly doesn't, otherwise these two would have been playing from the off and we'd have an overseas batter. We cannot waste these two high quality young players any longer - it's absurd. And we should still have Whittingham too. Idiots.

pitifully small crowd at Lords. They didn't appear to have tried to limit access to stands. Just been to see Brighton v Arsenal womens football at the Amex. They put all the supporters opposite the cameras so the 5265 attendance probably looked quite good.

The reverse goat mouthing with Garton did exactly what I hoped it would because when I posted he was going for 9 an over and ended going for 5 an over and taking 2 wickets.
It was a difficult start for Garton in difficult conditions but he fought back well. He needs to grab his opportunity while Jordan, Archer and Robinson are out because there are no guarantees he will play once they return.

pitifully small crowd at Lords. They said they’d sold 3,000 tickets but I think the weather put most people off especially as it was on Sky.

Mind you don’t fall into that hole you’re digging 😂 We won’t see Archer in a Sussex shirt this side of September.

With Wiese, Robinson and Jordan I still don't see him playing much once the latter two return. It is about time Garton performed because his performances to date in the first team have been underwhelming.

He has the second best bowling average behind Hamza, the second best tally of wickets behind Hamza and an economy rate of 5. To date he’s out performed Jordan Briggs and Wiese with the ball in the RLOD. He’s also taken 2 catches and 2 run outs. Underwhelming??
