As I'm off sick and bored I'm starting a thread about our one hope for success this season - T20 cricket - soon to be taken away. Despite our management's baffling attempts at squad assembly in Championship cricket, potentially we have a strong side for this comp. If only it was obvious where our priorities lie. Anywho, my best side. Feel free to have a crack yourself. If not, sod ya, don't like any of you anyway except Fraudster, who doesn't seem to come on any more.
Salt Wright Haines Evans Carey Rawlins Jordan Archer Rashid Garton Mills
Actually batting looks possibly sketchy, potentially dynamic.

My line up would be
Salt Wright Rawlins Evans Carey Wiese Jordan Archer Rashid Briggs Mills/Topley/Garton. One of them MUST be fit!

Well I thought my batting line-up was vulnerable but Joe's managed to sure it up for me. Without really adding anything to the bowling except the obligatory under used bowler. Gotta be stronger batting Joe surely? I say Haines because he's young and attacking minded, and mainly because there's nobody else. It's the one position we're short in on the face of it. Putting a big gun there would make so much difference. Machan on a T20 contract?
Now Flash, that looks reasonable to the naïve eye but are you trying to raise old Frawdy's blood pressure?

Carey too low, Wiese should be in there &, depending on conditions, we might need to get another spinner in there for the fit leftie. Aneesh Kapil I think will also feature. Looks an OK squad, (maybe a gun batter light?)

Can't see Archer playing much blast given the likelihood he is going to be part of the Ashes this year.

Besides, with Topley and Mills being shoo-ins, I don't think we want 3 left arm seamers.

Interesting that no-one has Van Zyl in their team? Do we know that he’s being rested or has he just been forgotten about?

Mills unlikely to play more than say 4 games? Is he the shoo in some of you think? I seem to remember he pretty much failed to get a batsman in the top 5 out whenever he played. Is that what the team needs/ Garton, injured. When is he likely to be fit? Briggs? Injured. Ditto. Why no mention of Beer? Some of you failing to remember he started the wickets falling against Middx, got the big guns out at Durham and the wickets in the final! I think he's in a better position than Briggs this year. VZ, needs to look after his knee? Topley, interesting. Could be that magical signing that gets Sussex wickets at the top of the order.

Sussex have such a strong T20 team, people are forgetting the depth. While Archer will be part of the Ashes and won’t appear, Chris Jordan is a shoo-in, Alex Carey could be dynamite for us and, hopefully, Rashid Khan’s confidence won’t be dented by his World Cup bashings.
As for Mills, who knows who will turn up to the matches, but Wright has much to prove, Delray is back in favour and finding form... I haven’t felt this excited by our T20 team since the days when Prior opened the batting and Sussex were shoo-ins for at least the QFs.
Re: Van Zyl, the rigours of T20 batting and fielding might be too much for his knee?

We kinda need Van Zyl as somebody to keep the innings ticking over We could use Evans in that role, but I’d rather give him a free hand The big issue is, whether or not we go with 6 bowlers, and would those bowlers include Rawlins. Personally, if we do go with 6 bowlers, then I’d favour Rawlins as a compromise. Yes he could go for runs, but so can anyone in this competition, but his power hitting, and his athleticism in the field, more than make up for that My side would be, Salt Wright Van Zyl Evans Carey Rawlins Wiese Rashid Jordan Briggs Mills With Beer the next cab on the rank

If Garton's fit, he's ahead of all of them. People are quick to forget his talents on here. Topley for Archer if anything. Can't see anything wrong with the left arm quicks myself - what's the difference?
